Oh I see thanks, I wonder what model it's based from? GFS does not appear to be predicting this feature even on the higher-res charts.
I think this looks at the last few radar returns and as you go out into future it shows its projected path.. This doesn't take into consideration change of wind conditions, just what has happened previously if you get my drift?

Heavy again. Biggest flakes for about 30 secs like 50p pieces. Back to moderate again now. Can see Cumulonimbus to the North.

Big 20p flakes again as it turns heavier.

If that snow over the home counties holds, it looks like North Wiltshire, Gloucestershire & South Gloucestershire getting hit.
Bristol itself looks literally a couple of miles south of it based on current track.
Oxfordshire too? Just a few miles away should have a report for you folks soon!

Snow is getting heavier here, a decent 6 on the Murr scale
I got laughed in SW thread yesterday when i mentioned the Murr Scale. Good to see others using the famous snow measuring scale!

How is the accuracy of this model generally viewed? I’ve never really used it.
EURO4 often leaves me a little sceptical. Take the 9pm to midnight chart for tonight. A blanket of pink from the top of our area north. There’s barely been more than the odd shower or flurry across this area
In terms of yesterdays shower alignment from the Easterly it was the closest model. I believe it is held in regard as a short term tool, so it will be tested next few days.. Incidentally, Gem showed similar but was quashed by myself included as progressive and precip signal in a low resolution for our part of the world. Be interested to know more senior views on Hirlam?
Euro 4 precip signal is very poor, even Fergieweather said it is too progressive with showers/etc sometimes. Even showed an area of precip across central london at 6hrs notice when nothing in that area so pinch of salt with the Euro 4 from my own experience, its a shame as we look to that one as not much else for the UK at such a short range, UKV is under lock and key from Met office and paid weather companies...
