  1. Here is what I hope for December...

    December

Week 1 & 2 - Mild with winds from the southwest

Week 3 - High Pressure settles over the country leading to bitterley cold mornings

Week 4 - The Northeasterly airflow from our good friends the continent and the artic lets rip! Bitterley cold and very snowy christmas with bouts of snow passing the country in all areas by christmas day everywhere in UK covered in snow varying from 5cm in the most unluckiest areas to 3 FT (90cm) in the lucky areas.

Eastern Side of Country Worst (Best) Affected with most snowfalls

Western Side of Country Not Immune but snowfalls should be more light and patchier...

After that Ill go lay down and dream....

ahhh and what a delight that would be if it were to come true. I have to agree that there were too many close calls last winter that didn't quite happen ( not in West Yorkshire anyway) for me to think of winter 11/12 as anything but a let down .

  2. has anyone got some more info on december and november charts that could help me learn about reading them.

Hello and welcome. I am pretty new to this game too , this will only be my second winter watching these forums and studying the charts . I find when the Winter area on here goes live it really helps with understanding the terminology behind what is happening and what we need to look out for in terms of chance of snow ( other than lampost watching ) I also found this a great investment http://www.amazon.co.uk/Understand-Weather-Yourself-Peter-Innes/dp/1444103105/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1347884978&sr=8-2

    Have a great winter !! smile.png

  3. The GFS charts are pointing to a 7day+ Azores high at the start of September. Personally, I'm hoping it's a sort of ...

"Sorry for the rubbish summer, enjoy the Azores heat, and get ready for an epic winter" ...Azores high. A sort last hurrah for the summer.

    That be just fantastic smile.png

  4. Daddy Longlegs in the house last night - a harbinger of Autumn.

WE have had lots of the little tinkers at the moment !! I am looking forward to about 8 weeks time when fingers crossed there will be a lovely nip in the air starting !
