  1. I agree Kelly, admittedly I'm very new to photography but I do think that they key is experimenting, playing around til you find what you feel is the best shot

I agree that experimenting is good. I think it is also true that if you have a good eye you can take a great picture whatever your camera. Often people are put off by not having the latest model etc but other people have shown what can be acheived with a little compact so just go for it I say :)

  2. Thanks for your comment Wibs, and I have had similar comments, but alot of my photography is cropped in such a way, I see things differently to the perfect 'rule of thirds' and 'lead in-lead out' etc ethos. I've sold over 1000 photo's on stock libraries and had a major expose in being published as the main cover for the 'International Brain Tumor Society' brochure and newsletter.

I actually agree with Wibs there. It is annoying when something is just sliding out the side of a photo. Makes you feel you are missing out on something I guess.

  3. I did say slightly over exposed, and I wasn't critising Oon's pic, was just using them as an example of how grad filter would have helped a bit.

Sorry what I should have just said was Nice pic's Oon.

    Cobblers!

There's nothing worse than false praise and no-one ever improves without constructive criticism. I can see exactly where you are coming from Louby. The scenery is so beautiful but unfortunately in the two photos you point out the sky is so very bright that it distracts your attention from the landscape.

I am sure OON would rather have relevent comments than the frankly pathetic 'nice pics' twaddle that usually prevails.

The landscapes are stunning, don't get me wrong but I read this section to learn more about photography and comments like yours help me in that.

So 4/5 OON. Off you toddle and try again! Could do better :o
