The thing that really peeved me off was this ; the Navy from Plymouth have been called in to help the situation in Gloucestershire (good) and they were shown marching along the road - why marching ? Just get the hell as quick as possible to where you've been asked to go and save some people's livelihoods etc!!
Maybe because the sight of them marching instills far less panic than if they were to run around like headless chickens!

HI gmg
It's just started spitting here now but
it's only a matter of minutes before it hammers it down
Been siling down here since lunchtime. Vile.
-
No-one actually said it. It was implied by everyone jumping and saying 'well-done' to a post clearly earmarked at those who, to put it politely, are qualification-less.
Everyone? That's one hell of a chip you are carrying round there!

Hello, there is already a thread about all this wondrous rain we are having

It's ok Andy, I'll make it simpler for you.
In the beginning there were blobs, these blobs developed into different blobs, bigger, better more complex blobs! Graduallly the blobs took shape! they became early life forms! They oozed their way out of the mud and developed individual features! Legs, arms, wings, etc.
Through the years these ex-blobs become more and more complex. Some develop intelligence, they begin using tools, they build things, learn things, create all sorts of wondrous thing! They become humans! Some don't.

Im thinking of entering this competition but before i do how many people buy the Calendar each year?
Last year there were 6. This year there might be 7 if Karl can be persuaded to relinquish his Playgirl calendar

EDIT: And I know I'll probably be banned for this, but you need to be told, in public, what a pillock you really are, PP
You think you're the first?
-
Some people have agendas and take liberties with the truth
Would you ever do that PP? Would you ever tell a fib so that your point would seem more valid?
-
PP have you read all of that site?
It is incredible!!!
I am not going to be swayed by the opinions of people who actually believe the bible literally and that the earth was created in 6 days with no evidence whatsoever.
I really worry about the way you seem to jump on random bandwagons. First 9/11, then the neo-cons, now Intelligent design. I can understand wanting to question the world in which we live but try not to swallow everything you read on the internet.
You know fully well what is presented by some people online can be a total lie!

It can't create new information....
Why not?
-
And haploid crossover may create variation within the same species, but not new information so as to result into a different species.
So - say millions and millions of years ago we all started out as the same 'blob'. Haploid variation kicks in and we evolve into different 'blobs'. This continues over the millenia and the 'blobs', thru haploid crossover, vary to such a degree that they are now different species?

Which is about when global warming started. So that proves it then. Everyone is wrong. Global Warming is caused by reduced solar activity
That's also around the time Neighbours started! Neighbours causes Global Warming!
It's ok, I'm going. B)
-
Where's the evidence for Intelligent Design?
There isn't any.
-
I wish we could have Mondy back. I miss him. B)
Yeah, me too!

But it doesn't, It's good for the environment but don't think it means your CO2 footprint it neutralised because it ain't.
Let agree to disagree.
So we do nothing?
I don't bother turning my mobile charger off, I don't use energy saving lightbulbs, because it's such a teeny amount of energy saved? I'm sorry but that attitude sucks. I'd rather do my bit however small than sit in judgement over those who are trying to help.
Paul already said in the grand scheme of things it's only a small amount, he's not claiming to try to reverse AGW. So well done Paul, I'm glad you are doing your bit.
-
It's good that people do something as long as they don't think that that something will solve the problem.
Nobody has claimed this will solve global warming though have they? It is just to offset the forums carbon footprint? For goodness sake!
-
There are a lot of carbon offseting companies that do just that in China, however it costs approx 20 times more to offset your carbon that way, the real way.
See this is what puts people off doing anything. Because as soon as they do someone comes along and says, why don't you do more, and when they do they're still not satisfied! You can't please some people.
-
Would you rather they did nothing?
Well done NW! Nice one

A more isolated view wouldbe that God directed certain sheep to sleep with other certain sheep in order to make the successful genome occur.
I now have a mental image of a sheep dating agency run by a man with a white beard
