It’s white over here now including the roads and snowing very heavily.
-
Snowing here now but not sticking yet.

It’s beginning to look like an ice day here although doesn’t particularly look like it outside but temp still at 0c.
-
Clearly still up for grabs and will be a case of window watching but personally have low expectation levels for areas West and probably also South of Brum.

From looking at the overall variety of outcomes across all the models it does appear that the met office update has it about right. I would say the chances for snow settling for areas South of the M4 look to be quite low, Midlands and the North altitude will be key probably ok c. 150m+ possibly higher for the Midlands and Scotland can be reasonably confident of seeing snow at times. Sweet spot likely to be Pennines and Peak District with optimum precipitation amounts and low enough temperatures.

Still no significant thaw and has now been snowing for the last 5 mins heavier than at any point yesterday evening - radar seems to developing precipitation around our area a bit as well. Interesting!

All about the extra height I guess, think at around 160m I am around 0c so no melt either. However looking in the Yorkshire thread there is rain at 200m near Sheffield so sadly the writing is probably on the wall. Precipitation is definitely heading more East to West than North to South in any case though.

Coming down a bit heavier now, temperature has risen a bit but still-1.5c so ok for now.

Still snowing gently.

Have had just enough to give a sugar coat sprinkling of fresh snow and it has picked up in intensity a little albeit still light at best.

Snow has started here, thermometer still says -3c and is usually accurate. (Davis one). Not sure there is going to be much of anything tonight though, precipitation looks weak and getting weaker.
-
If it sleets here at 6pm it’s going to be fun and games as it is still-3c!

Make the most of the cold weather over the next few days especially if we get some snow on Friday. I think it may be a little while before we stand much chance of getting back in the game once the milder air arrives early next week. Hope I’m wrong.

It's got up to about 5C today, considering it's been at 0 or in the minuses for the last week, I'd say that it's quite warm in comparison.
Max temp was 2C here and now back at 0C it’s going to be a cold one tonight.

Wow, taking a break from radar watching has worked well. Already covered over any areas where snow had melt and a heavy blob incoming. To make things even better Wolves have scored 3 goals in the first half!

One eye on the radar and watching that blob currently over Derby and the other on the Wolves game. Think I might take a weather break for a couple of hours and see what happens, but take any additional snow as a bonus as still have a reasonable covering. COYW.

We might just miss out on that heavier blob here.
It's moving SW as it sinks south, the back end of that blob might have slipped a tad too far SW as it sinks south over us, putting us in the bit in the middle that has already weakened.
It's certainly tight. (And I am being quite specific for my location)
Agree, does look as though the main band is just missing us to the West, although can’t complain!

I wasn’t looking that far E, I think the area you have highlighted will be more for central/ eastern? areas. For the West of Brum I was looking at the area currently over Derbyshire but does seem to be losing its oomph a bit again. still expect a further covering though.

Although the band seems to be moving in a SW direction it seems to be building in intensity on the eastern side of the band at the same time which should mean at least Bham West gets a further spell of snow. Temp back at 0c now so should be all snow here.

Still coming down but a lot slower now, back garden has that lovely wintery covering again.
