I wouldn’t be to disheartened guys , we are colder than those further south and the front have moved in quicker and further north and having a nosey in the north west thread a number of members are now having snow down to low levels so I think we are in a good place as long as the ppn keeps up intensity

I have managed to stay clear of any forecasts and models due to the absolute OCD I developed over the last cold spell , a few folks have mentioned snow this week coming so my curiosity has nearly gotten the better of me but I haven’t cracked yet

A few trees came down today in low winds obviously weakened by isha soooo it doesn't bode well for tonight in respect to already weakened structures

Not sure on the sea swells...Will leave to the more knowledgeable other than saying there are many factors bit one is sustained fetch and we have some protection...though NW does not.
Beaufort scale helps contextualise I find for my simple mind how strong wind "feels" and the impact. Hopefully the experts see some better news
Yiu can mess about on windy.com and look at various ootion for wind waves, swell etc.
I see. On Twitter violent storm 11 on the shipping forecast

already sounding horrific out there . As I grew up in Ayr very used to storms especially boxing night storm 1998 I think that’s where mi weather obsession began tbh horrendous night as a wee nipper . After moving here a few years ago never really bothered with storms but this one is hitting different for some reason

Exeter have changed their wording. Extending version have dropped the winds from the north. Now says from the east.
