Damn..mountains and snow clouds to my north so no Aurora but road covered now.

You might be lucky if they come down the Cheshire Gap. Light flurries here in Snowdonia with some beefier stuff showing on the radar.

Been snowing here for a couple of hours and settling nicely here in the Moelwyns. Griter with plough attached hearding off over the moors.

Very wet snow falling consistently now. Further inland and mountain tops should be getting a good covering.

Ground white over due to heavy hail showers and gritters been out over an hour ago.

Glad I headed out West on Sunday now that the rugrats have disappeared.
Here in normally wet Wales we've had glorious almost cloudless sunny skies.
This morning any light mist has almost all burnt off now and temp 13.5 and climbing.
I think we'll be in-line for the rain before the Midlands tomorrow afternoon.

Another cloudless sunny morning here in Snowdonia. The rugrats have gone but the mackerel are still about. I can feel another fishing trip down the Llyn coming on this evening!
Even the top of Snowdon is cloudless.

Looks way too far east to me.
Anyone remember when storms used to come from the N or NW as a cold front hit warm air? Never happens these days, it's always the S or SW which always die or veer off just south of here.
It's moved on very rapidly from due south to north of Telford now.. Short and sweet!

The storm near me is heading Telford way so Shrewsbury might catch it.

Yep seems to be heading up the Severn Valley. Much closer now and quite intense.That's the one I'm looking at. It's actually a little north of me in Bewdley.
5 secs between last CG and thunder and trying to rain now.

Plenty of CG directly to my south probably Kidderminster. 1 to 2 flashes a minute...

Storm seems to have subsided since peak yesterday so not looking too promising.

Solar storm causing shed loads of normally unreachable distant foreign radio stations to come through on DAB and FM frequencies. Even Simon Mayo on Radio 2 apologised this afternoon for interference from an Italian Station.
Radio Hams will be having a field day!
It's a shame the twilight is so strong in the UK that any Aurora, if down this south, may be washed out.

Not so sure, possibly pileus cap. Moki, yours is def lenticular, see a lot of them round our way.
