  1. No snow yesterday or overnight at home location. Slight dusting here at work, Brierley Hill area. Temp at 8:30am +1c Little or no cloud. Wind slight NE
  2. 3 or 4 snow flurries yesterday... today Rockall This was despite a promising thinkening of clouds this afternoon. Wrapped up warm with 17 layers to take the dogs out and broke into a sweat. Ended up taking my jacket off! Skies clearing now so expecting a sharp frost. I'm hoping the wind switch to the East mid week might bring some PPN.
  3. Slight dusting when I got up at 07:30 this moring. Must have been a passing flurry overnight
  4. No need to get excited, but after a quite week or two, sunspot 735 now has some potential. It needs to get a lot lot meaner  to generate even the slighest chance of seeing Aurora activity here though. Joint USAF/NOAA Report of Solar and Geophysical Activity SDF Number 047 Issued at 2200Z on 16 Feb 2005 IA. Analysis of Solar Active Regions and Activity from 15/2100Z to 16/2100Z: Solar activity was low due to a C1.1 flare at 1637UTC from Region 735 (S07W06). Region 735 has developed a weak delta configuration just to the south of the main leader spot. IB. Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be low. There is a slight chance of an M class flare from Region 735. I'll post any updates if they show any promise. For now, look to the skies for that other elusive stuff.... Snow!!

  10. I almost booked today off as holiday as it was meant to be a sunny day here in the Midlands. Even this mornings' R4 forecast at 7:57 said just a few light showers around Manchester which should soon die out! Conditions this morning (till 2pm) have been showery (some heavy though short lived) with a sunny intervals. Current situation is broken cloud with heavy cloud to south and west... more showers looming I think.
  11. Update from Near Dudley West Midlands.. Stuck in the office so no readings but Thunder and Lightning just started 3:15 Approaching from SW...(Kidderminster direction) No rain yet. Spoke too soon..... persisting down at 3:30!!
