  1. No prob Paul. Whilst you're in that neck of the woods you might want to check out the Euro Lightning, EUCLID, Latest Strikes link. I get a dead link there as well. This works though. http://www.meteorage.fr/euclid/euclid_last_lightnings.gif
  2. Not sure if anyone is aware of this, but the Lightning Detector Explained link doesn't work for me on the bottom of the UK Live Lightning page. http://www.net-weather.co.uk/Charts_Data/U..._explained.html
  3. Thanks for the offer of the road kill. (I rather like rabbit actually, preferably casseroled.) Is it true that if you cause the road kill it is illegal for you to pick up the victim i.e. rabbit, pheasant or deer (god forbid) etc. but the car behind you can? Heard that somewhere but not sure if its true or not.
  4. Thanks for the advice Scribbler. I wont be having Mole Steaks on the BBQ this weekend then. If I can arrange for the lawn to be flooded for 3 months in the year I will certainly have some serious problems, other than moles, to worry about!
  5. That's one of his classics... that and the nutter on the bus!
  6. And I love them too... bless! OON. I don't care too much about the lawns perfection either having not edged it for the last 4 years. It's the fact that there is 3 tonne less soil under it now than there used to be that worries me. I fear the house might subside at this rate!
  7. I guess you're right Roo. But we are surrounded on all sides by fields and meadows and the little blighters still choose to excavate our garden. So you have a mole Mrs M... want any more?
  8. I didnt know that? I think I have a population hotspot in my garden!
  9. The dogs will eat most things they dig up, voles, mice, shrews etc. but for some reason they wont eat a mole. I wonder if they have something in their fur?
  10. I got a couple of those Mole Chaser things from Maplins. Poke them into the ground and they gives off low frequency vibrations. They just party to it!
  11. Is that like those mushroom circles or just a coincidence? I like moles. I've almost got enough for a pair of moleskin trousers! Seriously it's having to remove a barrow load of soil each week before I can even start to mow the lawn that bugs me. Also, I have lost some trees and shrubs because they have undermined the root systems. The dogs have caught some but they cause more damage by digging a crater in the lawn to get at them! Edit: Flagpole, my Brother is the spitting image af Jasper Carrot (and talks like him). Seany. I cant get a dermatologist small enough to fit down the holes.
  12. Daisies and moss in my lawn. I can live with them but Moles are the bain of my life at the moment. Tried everything except a 12 Bore but to no great avail.
  13. Mondy, that post threw me as well at first till I realised the quote is the latest forecast not a quote from an earlier post! TreizeVents, lets hope there is some activity on the 17th. I suspect if there is any activity it may not be strong enough to see in our twilight skies.
  14. There were traditional parts to Logan Gardens such as this bluebell woodland. (Notice also the Giant Gunnery at the end)

  17. A few weeks ago there was a thread about the impact of the Gulf Stream on the climate in South West Scotland. When I visited the area at the end of May we went to the Logan Botanicial Gardens on the Mull of Galloway near Stranraer. These palms were growing freely outdoors at the same latitude as the Aleutian Islands in South West Alaska. More pictures here: My Gallery - Logan Gardens
