  1. I was just about to give you a telling off as you are a mere ten miles down the road but thought i would look outside... And we have had a dusting of snow, nearly 1cm, and its settled quite nicely on the frozen ground :) Think i'm going to be now, fingers crossed for a few inches over night!

That last bit you said, is what my wife said too :)

  2. Update, no lying snow from that short-lived light to moderate snow shower. (For kids or Southerners "heavy", "blizzard", "neve seen anything like it")

It just sort of dampened the paths a bit. (For kids or Southerners, a temporary 15cm cover)

Most people are still in bed and will be non the wiser when they get up, but the Newton Aycliffe Snow Observatory doesn't miss a trick.

Thankyou for your three reports in 33 minutes of a light wintery shower that we all new would happen in the North East.

  3. Yes, this is a devastating storm which will probibly make Hurricane Ivan look like a baby, i expect Hurricane Katrina to make landfall in western Texas as a moderate category five hurricane, it is interesting that although we have only had four hurricanes this season, three have them will of been major hurricanes, with two of them possibly category fives.

What is the record for the amount of category five hurricanes forming in a single season as i think this record could be broken?????????????????????????????

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I agree summer blizzard, this could be another record broken. 2 category five hurricanes forming in a single season!! :D

  4. It's all thanks to Paul getting my picture on here, otherwise Nobody would have seen it, and that would have been awful for me as I wanted you all to see what I saw that morning. I've also had my picture enlarged and framed and it's going on the wall, I don't care what my fiance says  It's amazing how there were 6 tornado's Monday morning, especially as they were all sighted in such a small area. :(

  5. I've tried uploading my picture of the tornado I caught on Camara near Linton (Cambridge) yesturday, but it will not upload. The picture is terrific! I've managed to upload it and e-mail it to my local paper for this week, but can not get it uploaded on here for you guys and gals to see. Can anyone help? Can I e-mail it to them and they upload it?

  6. Yes, I know how Matty feels. I shouted my fiance upstairs and she couldn't believe it either! I've spent hours and hours looking at storm clouds over the years in this area in the hope that I see one(and chased storms), and to have a fantastic picture of the sun out, with an evil bank of cloud edging towards our house and a tornado nearly touching the ground out of this cloud, I can't explain how over the moon I am! I will try and upload the picture in the next hour or so once ive worked out how too with my digital camara. I so want you all to see the picture!

  7. I also have a fantastic photograph of the twister/twister's that were south east of Cambridge. I was looking out my bedroom window this morning inbetween 10.30 - 11am and the most evil looking clouds were developing! Then I saw what looked like a funnel cloud dropping from the sky, it became longer and longer and nearly touched the ground. I do have a picture of it and will take it down to the Haverhill Echo in the morning. I class myself very lucky to have seen this out my bedroom window!!!!
