Torrential rain, thunder, lightening and the most amazing rainbow I have seen in years. Fantastic sight!!!! Better than the summer this is!!

I was playing poker on my pc and the screen went blank along with an explosion. My pc came back thanks to my external emergency power supply (Needed when playing poker for £££). All our other poweer was lost and has just come back on. Amazingly the broadband and phone were working all the time!! The first strike (That caused the blackout) quite literally came out of nowhere, no rumbles or previous flashes at all. After the first strike came about 6 or 7 more with crashing thunder that shock the house!! Storm of the year easily!!!!!

Wow we have had a storm here that was better than all summer storms combined. It has taken out the power in a 300 flat block!!! Amazing and came out of nowhere!!

Yep got some thunder and lightning here, dark clouds came from nowhere with very gusty winds and heavy rain.

Been raining a while but its turning to snow now here.

Some lightning showing up on the chart for south england and feels really sticky here in London.

I would like to add my thanks for some wonderful posts and pictures. A very enjoyable read. Im sorry you didnt get to see an F3 but there is always next year. My dream is to join a chase one day.

I have now watched the BBC weather for 3 days and I hate it so much its ITV from now on. Although I take a keen interest in the weather the one thing that sticks in my mind for the next day's weather is what symbol is over london 9 times out of 10 a simple symbol will do the trick ie: a Sun=Sunny, A Rain drop and a half sun=showers and a Rain cloud=rain. With the new forecasts I forget what the forecast actually is as soon as its over!!!

Wow only joined 1 hour ago and now have heavy rain and few thunderclaps. Must be this excellent forum influencing the weather!!!
