  1. Surley we have an ice warning, the meto are always issuing those.
  2. I follow the model thread and sometimes it can fly a little over my head, sometimes miles. Nice read.
  3. Fantastic day in Warwickshire and Birmingham. Started snowing this morning around 9am and started to settle from the off. Drove to chadwick end and roads bad in brum but clear as soon as i crossed the m42. Amazing what difference it makes moving into another councils area. Snow all day and a very tricky drive home. A41 main road covered in snow and b425 also main road treacherous. Many, many schools now closed but not the one I work in. It's a special school and all the kids are bused in. Exciting to think I many get a snow day to play in the snow. Fingers crossed. Still snowing, 5cm as a total guess. Enough to build a second snowman. This could end up being a snowiest spell that 2009 + 2010.
  4. Yes agree. Most people apear snow blind when measuring or guestimating there snow depth. That on the competative element and the British nature to say 'we/I have it worse than you' bizzare! Good snow event though and it's staying cold for a few days so plenty time time enjoy. As long as I has enough snow to sledge with my little sons I'm happy.
  5. Nae model has heavy snow over West Midlands Sunday at 6. So i could be off work Monday. Fingers crossed and get in. Will be enjoying snow tomorrow with my 2 yr old and 3yr old sons sledging.
  6. Still snowing in brum, good bonus and based layer. The snow we currently have is still from that band of light snow that moved over us last night. The main band is still to out south west. I think as the main band moves in it will hit the old band of snow and help to increase intensity. I think this is why the nae model (high resoltion) upgraded the snow over the west midlands last night. Main snow will arrive this morning from 7am till 10am. Remember the west midlands covers from Worcester in the Sw to Stoke. So 7am Worcester and by 10 am Stoke. Well that's my take on things. All looking good.
  7. Been snowing for a few hours in se Birmingham. Good covering. Band of snow looks to has intensified over here. Will certainly help tomorrow. Let's hope we have a good snow day tomorrow and we have the potential for more through the weekend and reloads next week. Lots to look forward to.
  8. West Midlands should still see its biggest snow of the year so far, about 5cm upto 10cm as a ruff guide, but as the front stalls and fizzes out there could still be some light snow Saturday and patchy snow Sunday. The fact that the front does not make progress new lessens the chance of less cold air pushing ne and so may help prolong wintery spell. The West Midlands therefore remains in a good spot for further spells of snow as fronts from the Sw push across us next week. Fingers crossed.
  9. Front stalling and slow moving so who knows may get an inch
  10. If the clocks go forward 1 hr, how do you get and extra 1 hr of daylight. it must be darker later in the morning, and an increase in sunlight hours would be 2-3 minutes per day, same as any other as we head towards summer solstice
