    BBC long range high pressure to north mid week cold coming in from scandi with some snow but also say milder weather trying push right a cross uk at end of week

    Can't post pictures at the minute but gfs ensembles are a big upgrade with blocking to the north east with lows going under with big snow events there could be a surprise 18 z later..

    Even if we don't get the easterly with snow we'll have chance as weather fronts push in from the west I remember back 2013 we had lot of snow in southern England..

    Looking interesting with blocking to east/north east any weather fronts comes up against a brick wall any weather fronts looking to stall to west and south west and if they come further east there could be some snow. Looking very good for a cold snap to increase..

    This update looks to me that cold is going to fight it out and that means there could be battlegrounds scenarios cold holding on in the east I like that..

    Don't like say I loved see a long lasting cold spell but Atlantic looking to progressive here is the gfs 12z / 18z still can all change for the better..

    I did mention this earlier that gfs could go that way short snap but we are still 5 days out so still changes to come hopefully with gfs..

    ECM was fantastic this evening cold more prolonged but gfs seems to have a short cold snap then high collapses over uk then then back in to a westerly air stream I hope this is not a trend from gfs because it is a short cold blast .. that's way I see it but could be totally wrong..

    ECM looking fantastic for uk very cold and snow. south east England looks to me it could get burried .

    It would be even better if later on the ecm goes the same way as gem .

    Turning much colder later on in to weekend increasing chance of sleet and snow showers in places especially in north/ east. If we see a breakdown from the west the uk can get heavy snow fall from and sometimes stalling weather fronts so mild weather may not get right across the uk .. that's what could happen but don't hold me to that .

    Well looks set for much colder weather later on weekend with high pressure to the north then Extending north east and it looks prolonged with any weather fronts coming in from west undercutting and giving significant snow fall in places very cold outlook with gem and as been the most consistent...

    Ukmo seem confident that high pressure will build to the north and extend in scandi with much colder weather snow increasing as move further on in to the period. Anyway happy new year everyone..

    BBC long range on BBC said significant snow fall as weather fronts try and come in from west looking good...

    Hi I could be wrong with this one looks to me low south west / winds coming from a south south easterly
