Precip on radar is def being enhanced in the Thames Estuary to the east of London. Snow visible on my works IR CCTV cams http://www.three-point.co.uk/engineering/three_point_eng_protectedpage.htm
Paul Blight on UKww has just commented that there is an issue with the algorithm that calculates precip, and when it's light will incorrectly model it as rain/sleet etc instead of snow.
Should of said, eastern coastline
Personally I think it's faulty as this cold will be hard to shift. The mild coastal temps today (Sleet/thaw etc) were expected, the main event is later on overnight and into tomorrow and will be snow!
0.6ºc currently here is the lowest temp at this time all week! Far from mild, now just need to sort out the snow deflector that keeps diverting snow away from here! Can't complain as have 4cm or so of lying snow and an ice rink for a road - happy days
