With the squall line slowing up, there is the possibility of it becoming more severe in nature.

A point to note, that the last strong storm in the south/south east was 18th Jan 07, and a lot of trees that would normally be felled by autumnal storms are still standing due to lack of anything for nearly 3 years. Tonight could see quite a few trees down in the south/south east.

Hi Dave
Yes that is the Plan at the moment - Although as you say some recent Models break out precip further South just North of the Thames Estuary in that Time Frame so will see how it looks at 4-5pm.
Although I would expect to be taking (Hopefully) Lightning Pics as darkness falls around The Wash area.
You up for tagging along

I notice UKWW has no warnings out Dave
do your lot know something the rest of the UK seems oblivious to I wonder?
As far as i'm aware, we don't really issue watches/warnings for scattered TS's unless there's a real risk of something severe, i.e tornadoes, lots of +ve strikes, strong conv gusts etc.
-
TS sferics up and down the country, mainly to the west from Scotland down to the Midlands. Also, cell nr Corby, Northants now electrified. Reports of CC lightning in Sheffield recently.
