  1. Not a flake in Caerphilly. I think South East Wales must be in a dead spot fo snow, the last few years we've had nothing even when the rest of the country have been snowed in (although we did cop a load in 2010)! Facebook covered in snow pics from family/friends dotted around the UK . . .
  2. Am in Caerphilly, any chance of some cold white stuff here? Or are we too far south?
  3. I hung some washing on the line outside for the first time this year. Dwi'n meddwl mae'r Gwanwyn ar y ffordd (Im thinking Spring is on the way...)
  4. If they're forecasting heavy snow then I think I'll dig out my shorts and factor 50 and head down to Barry Island. Bitter? Cynical? Me?
  5. next time the met forecast snow I shall expect rain or a heatwave.
  6. nothing all night, just drizzle, rain and fog. Not a single snowflake.
  7. nothing. nada. zilch. Drizzle and wetness and misst and beggar all else. Even If it does start to snow now it won't settle on wet ground. I officially give up on this winter. And my inlaws are getting more snow in Kent ! Arrrrgh !!!! Roll on the bloody spring !
  8. ooh hows about caerphilly? otherwise im just going to have to go and stay at my mum's in newport for the weekend lol...
  9. ok rant Here, am getting sick of constant tweets and fb updates from my inlaws moaning about their 15cms of snow (which they apparently hate ), sending me pics of it and telling us we're "lucky " not to have any in Wales. Or my MIL, who desperately wants us to move down to Kent (not going to happen ) trying to persuade me that "see, if you lived Here you'd have lots Of snow " and claiming she was "snowed in " yesterday. She lives in the middle of Sittingbourne in a flat, hillless area with a Sainsburys 2 mins walk away, how can you get snowed In under those conditions ? We were properly "snowed in " for a week in the valleys last December, seriously, roads impassable and cars buried under three feet of frozen snow !!! *takes deep breath * OK that over with, its gone very damp and miserable here and definitely not as cold as it was, no frost or ice and all snow melted. Not sure what to expect next as the forecast from the Met is totally different to the one on my android phone, from Accuweather, which was actually Much more reliable than the Met on Saturday . . . .
  10. if easterlies arent much use to us in wales, wbat gave us the fabulous snow of December 2010?
  11. Ahh thanks k66la, i thought she was full of i ot. We got about 4 or 5cm yesterday in the south wales valleys so youre still doingbetter than us lol
  12. Well although the rain had a really good go at washing away our precious white stuff last night we still have quite a bit of it laying around. Hoping we can hang onto whats left, the scene outside my window is quite lovely
  13. Anyone in the maidstone or sittingbourne area? Only my prone to exaggeration sister in law is claiming they have two feet of snow and living in the south wales valleys 250 miles away I cant tell if shes talking rot or not! am very impressed if its true though...
  14. Much as Im disappointed to see the snow being washed away by the stupid rain (grrrr...) Im exhulted that we got it after the met and beeb forecast only 3 hours of sleet for us!
  15. sadly it looks Like the snow has turned to rain just like predicted and so our two inches of snow will soon be washed away, but I'm trying no t to feel too disheartened, we've got a good enough covering for me to take my little boy out on his sledge and give my baby daughter her first sight of snow. I was afraid this winter would be totally snowless so at least we have had a brief taste of it, even if there won't be any "snowdays " !! we also had a drama today as the condensation pipe from our combi boiler had frozen solid, meaning our boiler stopped working and we had to ring around and find an engineer who could make an emergency call . . . we're £60 poorer as a result !!
  16. still going but lightly. Not enough for snowman yet (or for the Local teenagers to start with their snowballs thank God !!). But at least its still coming down, needs to get heavier If we're really going to get anything worth having though...
  17. light covering all over the ground but small powdery flakes and snowing quite lightly. Needs to ramp up a bit if we're going to get anything worth having . . .
  18. To be honest the met forecast for us is rubbish, saying nothing till 3pm and then just sleet. Its already snowing lightly with a fine powdering starting to settle. The accuweather forecast on my phone was more accurate with snow starting from 8/9 am...
  19. MAE HI' N BWRW EIRA!!!!! Dyn ni'n mynd mas nawr, yeeeeahhh !! Its snowing! We're going out now lol !!! YEAHHHH! (only light snow but settling !!!)
  20. cold this morning, snow on the mountain still hasn't melted and ground is dry. so as long as it starts as snow and not rain we have a chance of It sticking !
  21. Really all i want is enough so that i can take my little boy out on it, even if it thaws straight afterwards. Feeling glum about our chances though after the disappointment which was last weekends "snowfest" and with bbc and meto threatening us with sleet and eain. May well have to avoid facebook this weekend so i don't get my nose rubbed in the metres of snow my smug inlaws will be enjoying in kent
  22. Is there any hope at all for se wales? I feel utterly despondent at the thought of more rain whilst ha ing to endure my inlaws (in kent) snow photos. The weather forecast keeps swapping between snow and rain for us.
  23. I'm not getting the temperature variations which both the met and bbc are claiming. how can it be 6 degrees in cardiff and minus 1 in kent (seriously, thats only a 250 mile difference ) on the same night ??
