  1. Red alert area: 20-30cm, drifting and blizzards OH MY GOD!
  2. ASDA in Caerphilly is crazy, they've ransacked the place and queues are the length of the shop!
  3. And I agree with dbaloo, make sure to check up on your elderly/disabled neighbours folks!!
  4. Red for Caerphilly! Just sent the other half out to get food and a snow shovel from ASDA!
  5. Been snowing since 6am here in Snegi but not sticking now - ground is wet. A bit concerning ...
  6. Yay! Heavy snow for Caerphilly! Its kind of "snizzling" now actually, very fine snow but its settling. The snow from Monday night is still about and frozen in patches!
  7. Confused as to our chances Friday - MetO says heavy snow, Beeb says sleet!
  8. Caerphilly mountain was NOT fun this morning! An hour to get from Abertridwr to Llanishen when it usually takes 20 mins?! Looked stunning though! I felt really Christmassy despite it being 3 weeks too late! I think Derek is a mildie ...
  9. Any more to come tonight? Its stopped now but icing over ...
  10. Easing off in Sneggy now. Boo! Although hubby is out on a delivery run in Caerphilly so a bit anxious about him ...
  11. Lying in bed watching the lamp post right outside the bedroom window, hey! Hows that for lamp watching in comfort?! Very light half hearted snow, not really settling other than a powdering on the cars ...
  12. Light snow in senghebydd now, settling on the cars but not on the pavement/road for some reason.
  13. In Senghenydd. Can't see any snow on the mountain although maybe I'm looking at it from the wrong angle? LOL. Nothing yet, very strange tho, its very very still, not a breathe of breeze. white/greyish cloud overhead.
  14. Dim byd in Caerphilly/Aber Valley yet. Clouded over and strangely still, like waiting for something to happen. Getting colder ...
  15. Half hearted snizzle in Caerphilly, not sticking as ground to wet and temperature too warm, Ho hum. I have a feeling this is goin to be a big let down. Considering going down to visit the inlaws in Kent for a few days so the kids can actually see some snow . . .
  16. Just popping in from the Wales/Cymru board. Whats Kent looking like, Especially Sittingbourne/Maidstone, for the next few days? We live in the South Wales Valleys but Hubby is from Kent are we were supposed to be going down to visit his folks for a couple of days as the kids have an INSET day on Monday. Drama Queen mother in law insists they'll be buried under 10 feet of snow by Monday night and we can't possibly think about it, but knowing how much chance we have of getting anything decent this far west (ie none!) I really want to go down tommorrow so the kids can at least build a blinkin' snowman!
  17. To do my bit I will refrain from buying a snow shovel in ASDA this week - doing so will almost certainly jinx away any chance of snow ..
  18. Well I think I got my winter today in Caerphilly. Frost on the ground, roofs etc all day. Cold and misty,.little light showers of snowflakes drizzling down this morning. Frozen water outside my son's school. Sheep grazing in frozen fields on the way over to Risca. Hazy winter sunshine peeping through the frigid misty air.And dropping my daughter off at nursery this afternoon what should I see but a robin redbreast! He fluttered down, hopped along the ground in the car park and disappeared behind the fence. It made me smile and I shall try to hang onto that perfect wintry scene through the dismal "mild and wet" garbage we're being threatened with. Maybe its a sign of better things to come ...
