Settling a bit. Shame it probably won’t last long but I look decently positioned for snow showers tomorrow.
Thick flakes, sticking here too. Shame that heavier PPN in Cheshire isn’t a bit further South!
temps dropping here but DP rising.

M6-M40 south. Yes please!
Looks like N. Wales in the firing line at the moment. Just need those winds to shift slightly more WNW and we're in the game!

strange my area was predicitng 8cm on the 0z,now its showing close to 10cm on 6z..surely somthing is around the corner!..it amazes me at just 3 days out there is no agreement between different forecasts
I imagine GFS is over estimating the northern extent. It’ll probably end up shifting south over the next couple of updates, eventually in line with the BBC forecast ending up as rain in the channel/S.coast.
We can live in hope though! -
Still no interest from BBC..

Seems to me, there the signal is growing there won't be any cold winter weather in at least January.
December Synoptics pointed towards a cold, blocked pattern but look what happened. Trust nothing.

GEM has snow widely across the Midlands on Boxing Day, and even for me in London.
If anyone should know snow, it’s those Canadians
18z GFS expands the snow risk across N Midlands, but looks transient.

Unfortunately not its cold down here at the surface but at 1400m it's a barmy 6C
PPN increased upon approach to Stoke, as did the temps. Ended up with cold rain, 1.6c. Possibly warmer aloft, didn’t even get sleet just cold rain.

Some of the models do bring a slightly greater chance of sleet and snow pushing in from the east during Sunday.
I'm seeing a few potential (mostly transient) snow risks next week as frontal systems move from west to east across the UK in fairly cold air, and wintry showers in between. This very messy setup is the sort that always seems to deliver snow to my location. It brought a lot of snowfalls last winter.Yeah, last winter was great for us! We had a fair few snow days. I think 28th Dec was my favourite. Snowed really heavily all morning, ended up with about 14-15cm of snow that day and it stuck around for a bit too.

@MattStoke The 12z is an improvement for Mondays transient snow event! Would be nice to see that cold pool over Scandinavia just edge a little closer!

Is that a bit of a streamer event developing? Like you say, too bad 850s won't be cold enough

Still snowing steadily here. Weird, because you’re higher up.
Oh, it’s snow again! Maybe lowered the snow line now the heavier PPN has arrived. Seems transient though, probs won’t be long before it’s rain again. Current temp:1.4c dp: -0.8c

Snowing in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. Very light. 4th snowfall of the autumn/winter season.
Started off as snow here in NUL, but now it’s raining. Didn’t last more than 15 mins here sadly
