according to the reporter in perthshire, central north scotland he says the snow over there is turning to sleet even in highland scotland!! wtf??

even heavier ppn makes alot of difference too don't forget!Height makes all the difference as you can see on the NW RADAR with the spine of the Pennines taking the brunt, marginally just the few extra hundred meters in height is all that's needed and 4-miles down the road from me at Woodford the RADAR shows sleet, whilst here it's nothing but snow, and more snow.

Just been outside and it is absulutely freezing with Ice pellets mixed with snow coming down! -8 windchill.

For N Eng/S Scot (inland) tmoz definitely a day for getting home as early as poss on Fri afternoon as by 1800z onwards it could be mayhem.
Above 250m in particular for N Eng may see over 20cm of snow within 6 to 9hrs from 1500z tmoz up to midnight. Some extreme conditions poss.

We should start calling friday, Freezeday.Why is it always fridays? Thats been 3 fridays in a rownow, not that im complaining, less people at work amd no school etc.

Blimey. The places that have not thawed at all or very little may get all-snow event on Friday but other places are pretty much a snow to rain thing. Looks like the below have names of members present are back on.
