  1. Yeah I know the prices looked more or less the same to me as well?
  2. Yeah I'm gonna hold out just to see what the other offers are before going with Dog Tag.
  3. I've tried this http://www.quoterack.co.uk/BasicDetailsForm.aspx but not heard anything yet. Also have emailed this place http://www.jsinsurance.co.uk/sports_and_activities.php as they seem to have a lot listed but not storm chasing.
  4. The broker helpline has been no good, they all have that as an exclusion :-S
  5. Unfortunately I've just had this email from them: "I'm afraid we've just heard that we aren't going to be able to offer storm chasing cover for the foreseeable future. We've just placed a message to this effect on our website. If you are struggling to find cover from another provider I would suggest contacting a local insurance broker, the British Insurance Broker's Association have a find a broker helpline who can offer assistance in this regard: http://www.biba.org.uk/ Apologies that we are unable to be of assistance in this instance." Will try that broker helpline and hope something comes up!
  6. I've just emailed gowalkabout travel insurance about storm chasing travel insurance and at the moment they don't know if they are able to continue offering this type of insurance so have not provided me with a quote. Does anyone know of anywhere else where you can get it?
  7. Hi I'm going to this tomorrow, is there anywhere where pictures of people have been put up so I know who to look out for?
  8. I do like how he's proved himself right about the October snow There you go, it snowed on the top of the Cairngorms lol!
  9. To be honest that just seems more a case of the way memory works than fact. You can hear all the time people saying things were different 10 years a go on so many subjects......I think more often it's just a case of we either forget or the rose tinted glasses effect of the past slipping in.
  10. We've had the coolest June since 1991 and July isn't looking much better....not exactly normal really is it! Tbh this summer seems quite similar to 2007 now although a bit dryer and not as warm, my gut feeling is it won't change much this month but like in 2007 August may bring the best weather of the summer.
  11. I noticed at 21:00 last night on the Met Offices lastest section it had Bristol Filton as sleet, can anyone confirm that?
  12. I've followed long range forecasts on this site by the site itself and well respected members and many have given a very good idea of what the summers/winters have been like. What would be a joke is stopping doing long range forecasts because 1 month went wrong!
  13. I have noticed the Met Office have forecast light rain for Bristol at 4 am. I take it it's that rain in the southeast heading our way. We really need it but I would have thought it would just die out overnight before getting here? No storms by the looks of things though.
  14. Had a rumble of thunder here in Bristol at about 07:30.
  15. Would depend on location really, in Bristol by March we've pretty much had it down here!
  16. Can confirm Michaels post, thunders now started rumbling in Southwest Bristol now, about 4 rumbles so far.
  17. Yeah we got that. Think the west side of Bristol had the most as it weakened as it left the Bristol Channel I happenend to be in Portishead when it came over so maybe in the best area? The rain after I posted did keep up at a more moderate rate than I expected. Still I doubt most of Bristol managed and inch of rain.
  18. Little bit dissapointed for the Bristol region, doubt we're going to even get 20 mm maybe only 15 mm in some areas. Very average really compared to what was expected.
  19. I was aware it gets double the rainfall of many parts of the south of the UK. I've got not idea how kids aged 4 and 6 who come from a place that gets around 4/5 inches of rain pretty much every month of the year had never seen rain!!!!!
  20. It was almost constant thunder in southwest Bristol for 30 mins, went on for about an hour more or less.
  21. Storm in the Bristol area around 4 AM today.
  22. What direction? Still not heard thunder here.
  23. Very heavy rain here, seems to be a new cell developing over us. Even stronger cells to the southwest on the radar so hopefully will get a storm soon. No thunder yet here.
  24. Haven't heard anything on the west side of the city. I recon it'll all get here during the next hour. Looks to be getting sronger on the radar.
  25. Looking good for the Bristol area. Some warm sunshine in the last hour and those cells probably arriving around 2/3 pm (a good time, yesterday it was looking more midday when they wouldn't have reached a peak) and currently building to the south.
