  1. Getting really fed up with this dross that we have got at the moment people saying it's mild but I think it's a bit chilly out there and it's that drizzly sort of nothing rain. Can't remember what the sun looks like now.
  2. Well if you go up there be careful of yellow snow!! Dog walkers paradise that place.
  3. I'm impressed with your local knowledge. Yea that's where we usually go if it snows that way don't have to brave crossing the A22 to get to Abbots Wood. I'm a big chicken when it comes to driving in the snow lol even though I have a 4x4. Go figure huh.
  4. Here's hoping to a bit of this next week, dogs would certainly enjoy it and I would appreciate them coming back from a walk relatively clean! https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/16903-snow-2012/

  7. Sorry John I think archiesmummy has got the forecast about right!!
  8. Not pretty in the MOD thread at the moment. I think I'll stick to John's forecasts.
  9. I'm trying to think back to last month I think it was on the Wednesday that "The ECM" showed great stuff for the following Wednesday then by Friday the hope had gone. I remember because I read about the disappointment on twitter whilst I was at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park oh the irony.
  10. Thanks again John hmmmm I think blue is my favourite colour especially that deep blue although I do kind of like those deep purples.
  11. Thanks for that John I'd put up with the boring stuff if it means we can get some more exciting weather later in the month. Ramp away I'm ready
  12. John I have just seen your post about not putting up fax charts. I find them very useful and pretty accurate I rely on them to tell me what the weather will be doing over the next couple of days. I say we set up a John Pike fan club.
  13. From wikipedia: Wind run is a meteorological term used to categorize or determine the total distance (or amount) of the traveled wind over a period of time. The readings are collected using an anemometer (usually part of a weather station). Wind run can help to determine the rate of evaporation of moisture over a particular area. It may also be useful in determining the height of waves that might be encountered on large bodies of water. Longer wind runs generate higher waves on open water. It can also be used to help in the placement of wind turbines. Hope this helps.
  14. Thanks for the info guys you have been really helpful. I wanted to get it all set up ready for the downpour tomorrow!! Having plotted and planned I think I have it in a fairly sensible location and am now in the process of installing the software, from what I have read on various forums the Cumulus software is better than the one that you get with the kit so I have downloaded that and it seems to be working very well. It is asking for my location - longitude and latitude and asl any ideas where I can find that information?
  15. This is the one that I have. http://www.maplin.co.uk/usb-touchscreen-wireless-weather-forecaster-228825 Haven't really looked into the technical bit of setting it up more trying to work out where to position it in the garden.
  16. Hi there hope you all had a good christmas and are looking forward to the new year. I got a weather station as a pressie and I was wondering how people fixed them up?
  17. Might be worth checking on twitter if you have it "travelnewssouth" is the guy to follow. From what I read today London Road Henfield was flooded today.
  18. Coast will you please turn the tap off you are wasting water leaving it running this long. Was supposed to be going to Langley to get my christmas haircut Grrrrrrrrrrrr.
  19. You won't regret it. I used to be a regular visitor to the area and made the move here 5 years ago and have not regretted it.
  20. I do believe there is very very light snizzle out there at the moment.
  21. Is that rain I spy coming in off the Channel at the moment?! That's a bit early Coast turn off your rain magnet pretty please otherwise we are going to get a little bit wet
  22. Well it had hardened up with the frosts but I fear this will thaw quite rapidly and with the rain on top. Mud bath anyone?!
  23. Coast I have been keeping an eye on this little feature certainly seems keen to make us the soggy coast instead of sunshine coast. Oh well a mud free garden was nice while it lasted. Thanks jp for sharing that forecast with us all. Lets hope it comes off but if it doesn't hey ho it's only weather.
  24. My met office app on the phone is saying light snow from 6 am tomorrow morning. Last night it was saying sleet then this morning it was just cloudy. Let's hope the upgrade continues who knows may say blizzards later on
