  1. only following the lightning map, it seems most strikes are occuring over ocean at the moment southern north sea very active more waves to follow..
  2. Off we go, some strikes showing up just off the coast from Brighton
  3. Not impressed with latest text forecast 'any remaining showers...' quick glance at the radar, would show none at all Forecasting a bright day on Monday with sunny spells, and only the odd shower possible, they then say becoming drier and brighter on Tues / Wed If it becomes any brighter than it currently is, then i'm going to need more powerful sunglasses !!
  4. Storms have broken out right over Rotterdam, right now http://www.virtualvisit.nl/webcam/index.htm
  5. Germany have had incredible two days of storms (South / Central Yesterday - North Today) Storms moving west into Netherlands Another area of storms in Belgium, so certainly some hope for south-east England
  6. Watching lightning strikes, amazing frequency going on in Southern Germany right now
  7. the activity may be waning, but still, a good distant show for those on the south coast every so often, the lightning detector goes crazy in that area
  8. a yellow warning out, forecast was for rain, on/off Very warm sunshine so far this morning, and the only rain across the south-west right now, is light stuff in far south devon I could have gone to the friggin beach !!
  9. Storms in channel seem to be moving north South Coast of Cornwall (incoming)
  10. So after a warm day today, tonight's min temp should be around 12 or 13c But then i remembered December 2015, about a week and a half before Christmas Where the night temperature never dropped below 16c it was crazy, too uncomfortable to sleep under the duvet Reminds, what an exceptional warm event that was, that many summer nights will still be cooler than what happened last December Now bring on the storms !!
  11. I would say the risk tonight very low, unless something develops later Gotta get on a plane and go to north coast of Africa to get decent lightning strikes
  12. I was actually on there when it disappered, i was watching Kelly Williamson, then i noticed how blank the map was, so i refreshed the page, and got the message, they had shutdown
  13. Well i must say, i feel disappointed. Are people modest enough to say 'well we kinda got the forecast wrong yesterday' A moderate risk, with a PDS Nado Watch issued, but in the end, just a small number of tornado reports, which i assume were brief funnels / touchdowns Chasers busted left, right & centre
  14. They mention giant hail (3-4 inches) http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day1otlk.html Click on the hail tab Goodness... what a donger !!
  15. heavy showers developing here, just had some hail falling, with big raindrops
  16. it's been gusting between 40-50mph up here today that yellow warning should have covered devon as well
  17. Good one from Matthew Hugo - here she comes !!
  18. Centre passes right over me will get the rain, winds will probably remain light and variable, until it moves by, then a gusty north-westerly Which would remind me a fair bit of Oct 1987... let's hope we have nothing on that scale this time
  19. I see a yellow warning out now for Monday It could get updated over the weekend, if this low really taps into that environment Maybe an upgrade to Amber, and the storm given a name What a Bank Holiday Monday, that is shaping up to be
  20. Lots of hoo-haa going on, watching Spotlight, and the weather with David Braine Why wasn't the storm given a name Well they only started naming these storms Does it really matter, what it was called? Storm force winds from an unusual direction (north) Yes, there will be disruption They mentioned disruption likely within the warnings yesterday
  21. I'm seeing 8c, (chiv) and a 5c over Exmoor, with the heavy band now just out west The wind needs to switch to the north, and those temps really need to drop This one could be a knife-edge situation for some
  22. covering of hail, then rain, then wet snow on back edge of shower nothing during the 'proper' winter, and now this in March poor show really, but a few wet flakes, probably better than nothing
  23. Winters without snow Summers without storms Friggin Uk Weather I got to go to the bloomin mountains of Scotland to see a little snow Where to go for Summer Storms, Germany usually get some humdingers
  24. New York, just had a massive rise in temp Sunday morning - 1F Just now - 52F I watched a web cam, 24 hours ago, still below freezing, they got a few hours of snow (a covering) Overnight, temps went above freezing, snow turned to rain Heavy rain there now, with no traces of snow left at all Big surge of mild temperatures, had no problem at all, pushing away that frigid cold air Not saying the Uk is getting the same, but it'll be 13c across part of the south-west this Saturday Even if people do get a bit of the white stuff, you'd better get out there and enjoy it right away
  25. Wow, New York City, right now is 3F (7:00am) I think the record is 2F webcam: http://www.earthcam.com/usa/newyork/littleitaly/?cam=littleitaly
