  1. I think we need to focus on home-grown storms Imports just don't cut it, these days English Channel = storm killer
  2. Sure looks like the south side of Jersey has had some fun recently
  3. Whoops.. never mind, it's back up Well that's just great !! http://www.lightningmaps.org/realtime?lang=en Has stopped plotting recent lightning strikes Typical, it would have to go down now
  4. Storms kicking off across north-west France now Looks like Channel Islands could be impacted, and then hope storms survive the journey across the Channel I think i may go 'old-school' and listen to sferics on the AM radio
  5. Interesting tweet from Tomasz https://twitter.com/Schafernaker/status/607241483972956160 The hot air missed by 100's of miles
  6. The heatwave that never arrived for us folks out west That cold front may be very weak, but incredible temp differences Many places in Wales are now just 11c with a brisk west wind blowing, just a few miles further east, it's in the low 20's Liscombe is only 9C, with a brisk west wind blowing, it's probably feeling like winter there A cluster of storms is going mad over in north-east France, heading north-east towards Belgium
  7. Beginning to get a 'pet peeve' It's the new forecast from NWS Storm Prediction Centre old scale was: see text, slight, moderate, high risk new scale is: marginal, slight, enhanced, moderate, high risk When a slight risk day is upgraded to enhanced, i think that triggers a lot more chasers to make the decision to chase. The word 'enhanced' makes it sound like another version of high risk. But it's actually below moderate risk on the scale Was watching David Drummond's video feed last night, where he got a couple nado's, i also watched him drive up behind other chasers, who were parked up on the road (rather than off to the side) - cue Drummond going into a rant, on his stream, and i don't blame him (chaser do's and don'ts)
  8. Damn, i hate that word 'benign' (yawn) I know some people enjoy the warm sunny conditions. The chance of storms could at least bring some excitement I don't think the Uk has had much luck with storms in recent years. I long for the good 'ol Spanish plume, with multiple waves of storms marching north, from the Bay of Biscay, and France
  9. You guys seen this one yet? Illinois Tornado April 9, 2015 - iPhone filmed - he was lucky to survive
  10. Just watched a movie called 'Metal Tornado' Laughed my socks off, even though i don't think it's meant to be a comedy, it's right up there alongside... Sharknado http://putlocker.is/watch-metal-tornado-online-free-putlocker.html

  13. I'm not getting all this 'warm spring' 9c around here today, and still feeling very chilly in the lighter winds Sub zero tonight Weekend, has strong south-westerly winds away from the south North east England, and North-East Scotland could see higher temperatures, in lee of the high ground For the south-west, especially if it remains mostly cloudy 11C on Saturday & 10C on Sunday, that was shown on the map, is only a little higher than today's temp Not really sun bathing weather yet, is it. lol
  14. Daily Star front page https://twitter.com/SkyNews/status/572148046810755073/photo/1 Easter is going to be eggstra hot 21c predicted - sure would be nice to see ladies back in bikini's
  15. This is combining with very high spring tides Not really on the scale of last winter, but the coastline around here is taking a battering again http://www.northdevonjournal.co.uk/PHOTO-Westward-Ho-takes-early-battering-high/story-26058890-detail/story.html 10 foot+ waves expected Mon / Tues, but the highest tides will be receeding by then
  16. watch the video here, the forecaster is fairly animated borderline stuff for new york city http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/northeast-snowstorm-blizzard-valentines-weekend/42131356
  17. The coming weekend storm / blizzard. Now, i'm hearing rumblings, another blizzard is possible for the same areas next Wednesday Good grief, someone is getting some interesting weather
  18. Today was supposed to be bitterly cold. Sure it felt a little cold in the wind. As i walked, i saw water still running off the fields with no sign of any ice. Out of the wind, the sun felt warm on me, and i regretted putting so many layers on I've gone to Scotland this winter to get my snow fix, as i knew chances down here were slim at best. I feel this will be the pattern for future winters. Even in Scotland, it was a slushy mess down low, and altitude was required to get decent snow, that did not melt right away To get snow on low ground across the south now, probably requires a real beast from the east. Walking on slushy pavements, with shoes that let the water in (cold/wet feet) = not pleasant at all
