if you have a persistant problem with ants, a composting bin is an ideal new home for them.. they break things down rapidly and leave a compost that is ideal for seeds.. the downside is when you come to use the compost.. if possible spread out a plastic sheet next to the bin and spread the compost about 4 inch thick over it and leave for a few hours.. the ants will recover their eggs and head for home.. facinating to watch..

i agree snowbear.. lack of magnesium.. old teabags/cold tea and tomorite should cure it :blink:

sorry wolves for taking the rise mate.. just had to be done.. as for what you say there has to be some effect.. but dont expect the answers to be welcoming.. there are a lot of people on here that quote boils law but yet they dont see the effect of a huge tidal wave stiring up the atmosphere.. anyway.. yes i belive the activity in the pacific will have an effect on the sea temps.. and therefore the up and comming storm season.. as 'minimal' as they are (or so some think) they all add to the big picture..

without heat at the moment its bad news for toms... i have 6 outdoor gals that need planting out but out door gal doesnt like being out there at the mo... funnily enough.. golden sunrise is loving the current climate and these are greenhouse/sheltered plants??

hi paul.. very interseting video.. and yes.. i do believe you have a tornado there.. goes to show how dangerous night time can be in a storm setup in those sorts of locations.. paul edit.. about halfway through the clip there is what appears to be a lowering that is illuminated by the lightning.. would be good to see the frame grabs paul.. the file compression doesnt do the video justice.. one frame its there the next its gone.. im sure you have better detail..

ive just been given some advice on how to attract natural preditors.. marigolds.. apparently the hover fly loves the nectar and will stay around and munch on aphids as long as the marigolds stay in flower.. gonna give it a whirl when i plant out my toms and runner beans..

hi roger.. i tend to agree with most of what you say.. the earths magnetic field is one thing that is neglected in the whole equation regarding models.. as is solar activity.. it doesnt have any effect as such as they tell us.. but yet if we throw a magnetic field through a pan on a cooker using induction it tends to boil the water.. over the last couple of decades the sun has been overactive and the magnetic fields it throws out must surely have an effect on our iron core?? the ice fields are melting from below and not from the surface.. if this was down to warmer temps in the oceans wouldnt this effect be observed more at mid levels in the ice field and not the lower?? i have a feeling that we are being fed a lot of crap with some truth instead of the other way around.. will wait n see..
