  1. Hi guys, I'm loving this series and the whole way the series is produced. I notice you use a Canon Camera for recording a lot of the stuff. I've now got a Canon 600D. Can you recommend a decent but reasonably priced Microphone to plug into the port? What do you use? I'll obviously be using a wind shield (deadcat) to protect against wind noise. Cheers guys.

  2. Awesome pictures dave48 and bristolstormchaser.Hey, bristolstormchaser, what phone did you take them on? They're much better quality than what my camera phone can do. :/

Cheers mate, I took them with my Galaxy Ace, getting pretty old now but not a bad camera. Will try and post some more as the storm season gets going :-)
  3. Any signs of a later than average start to the season are great news as far as i'm concerned (even though I don't like to be selfish lol) Tornadoes a plenty in the high plains in early June would be great for some awesome structure and great views.

  4. I seriously hope there will be some rain in the drought hit areas, we had enough dust last year. I'd like to see a tornado not a mass of dust!

No wonder they sing "Is this the way to Amarillo.....?"

  5. Looks as if you picked the perfect point to start the chase. Following a storm from formation to tornado is a commendable feat! :-)

    Ooops Nearly forgot this.

    94 Days To go

So another Supercell, this time the lifecycle of an LP To Classic and Finally HP Supercell on the 29th May 2012 in the Heartland of Oklahoma. One of the best chases ever this one, for road networks, chase target and end result. A fantastic Day!

It started out life as a beautiful LP Supercell

Ended with 6" Hail from a huge HP Supercell which caused millions of dollars worth of property and farm damage.

    Enjoy! And another coming tomorrow

  6. Thanks for posting these movies on Youtube, this second series is awesome. The video work, the editing and soundtrack make for a great atmospheric feel. I hope this is working well financially for you. Episode 5 is fantastic. We chased that storm in the Floydada area however the red dust kicked up meant we couldn't even see beyond the bonnet of the car! Can't wait to see Episode 6 to see what we missed out on :-)

  7. Exited the harbour festival at 4 o'clock after a few hours there.Started to rain at 3.30 but 30 mins under the brolly on Queen's Square finishing off the Stowford Press was enough for us and went to Temple Meads to get the 4.30 train to Parkway.A real shame as it was rammed and everyone was chilling and enjoying life.A month+ of beautiful weather and the big weekend arrives for the fair city, and the rain has to spoil the party!

Yes, it's a shame thought it wouldn't start raining until around 5pm, hopefully will clear in time for the fireworks :-) Tomorrow looks alot better, more sunshine about a 50% chance of a shower, what do you guys think?
  8. It's currently 31deg here in Bristol atm. Looks as if cells are appearing east of here at the moment, will be up very early tomorrow to hopefully have some chase time as off work all day :-)

Is that what I think it is... a cell near Yeovil? Sferic detected near Salisbury?

There appears to of been a lightning strike but can't see anything on the 16.45 radar, will check out the next update.
