A cooler cloudier day here with only limited sunny spells.Warm in the sun but rather cool under the cloud with a chilly Ne wind.A high of 15c today compared to 20c yesterday.

Something could be brewing to my Nw,very dark skies and some large drops of rain here in Derby,nothing on the scale of the West Midlands though!!

The sun is burning through the cloud here,and it feels warm in it.Some big cumulus now bubbling up,so could be promising for later.Had no thunder here since January 26th,so even one solitary rumble would do!!

A cool cloudy start with a low of 3.5c.Sunny spells briefly broke through around midday giving a spring like feel with temps reaching 9.c.Showers soon spread in from the east during the afternoon consisting of hail and sleet,and very dark skies.Temp at 5.30 had fallen to 5.5c during a heavy hail shower.Now cool cloudy and damp.

Quite the opposite to the day forecast here,with the majority of dry weather in the morning with long sunny spells.The afternoon has bought a scattering of slow moving mostly light nagging showers of rain and hail just enough to wet the washing and myself walking from the pub.Some impressive skies around dusk.Winds fresh NW with a high of 9c.

A dry morning but showers have moved in with some dramatic skies.The showers have been a mixture of rain,hail and possibly a little snow.Chilly in the wind.

Cloudy and damp start,no snow showers overnight,all very calm at the moment.

The day dawned cloudy and dry,but rain soon spread in from the west becoming heavy for a time.The rain has turned to wet snow which isn't settling,and is slowly dying out from the west.Winds are light.

One of the coldest mornings of the winter here with a minimum temp of -3 degrees with clear skies and mist in the valley.A good frost on all surfaces.

A pleasant start to the day with partly cloudy skies,feeling almost springlike in the sunshine.Strong gusty South east wind making it feel chilly.

Had our first fall of snow in Derby this morning some quite big flakes for a while though none settled.We had a dusting last Monday morning whilst on holiday in Shropshire.

Cold and cloudy with a bitter wind.Occasional mostly light snow falling but not settling.

Squall line just hit us here in Westhope,Shropshire.Deady black skies with really gusty winds,hail and 3 sharp cracks of thunder so far.Good lightning as well.

After a dry sunny start,showers moved in from the west,starting off with rain and hail.We then had two heavy showers around 6pm which quickly turned to snow and left a slushy covering on car roofs,wheelie bins etc.So first snow of the season here,all frozen now under clear skies.

Although I heard nothing myself a work colleague said she heard 2 booms of thunder at around 1am in Derby and saw one flash of lightning.Only really heavy rain where I live though.

Seeing as it is now nearly January and I have yet to see any Snow this season,I was wondering when we last had a winter dominated by so many westerly winds,storms and such a lack of easterliy or northerly influxes.

Plain old rain as I left work in Derby,but as I headed north it turned steadily to sleet.We now have a mixture of sleet and big flakes of wet snow in Denby though nothing settling.

A cold damp start here,with rain that became heavy and briefly turned to wet snow,leaving a slushy covering on the car.Skies have now cleared partially leaving patches of blue sky.

Dawned clear and cold here with the first grass frost of the season,car windscreen and roof had a covering of ice.Temp down to 1.5 degrees.

Living in a valley we normally get our first frosts in late September.But due to the mild weather none as yet this season.Thought it would be interesting to see what other members experience.

Slinging it down here at the moment,really intense rain but nothing electrical at all!.

Big flash of lightning to my west,keeping curtains open now to look for more,didn't hear any thunder as we're watching tv.Light rain earlier has now died out.Still feeling very muggy.
Anyone not seen a flake of snow this season?

Saw a brief snow shower in January whilst at work in Derby,but have seen no falling snow at my home address.Also had a slight dusting of snow whilst on holiday in Westhope,Shropshire on Jan 26th,but again have had no lying snow at home all winter.
