One almighty sharp crack of Thunder here after a brilliant CG strike!.Winds really picking up now, with further rumbles of Thunder.
-
Really heavy shower just passed through here, now it's returned to the steady drizzle that's been falling since around 9am.Could be a sign of things to come though.
-
Frequent heavy squally showers here with hail mixed in with the rain. Some pretty dramatic clouds to my Nw but most are drifting down to my east.Pretty sure I heard two rumbles of Thunder around an hour ago but nothing since. Most of the action seems to be just east of here.
-
Heavy rain and really gusty winds here under a very threatening sky.No sign of any Thunder or Lightning as yet.
-
Gone deadly black to my East, not sure if we will get anything now though but the wind has definitely strengthened.Cant complain though, heard my first rumble of the year earlier around 6pm.
-
Just had a sharp shower East of here with a deep rumble of thunder.Threatening clouds all around now.
-
Really intense shower just passed through here with a mixture of hail and really large raindrops.Beautiful rainbow now with a temperature of just 5 degrees.
-
Just driven through two sharp hail showers between Belper and Duffield.Very threatening skies all around.Sun is out again now,so hopefully things will get going later!.

Steady snow has fallen here since around 2pm with some large flakes falling though little settled. The last few hours have seen much finer snow which has started to settle though it is beginning to ease now.Probably around 8 inches here but with few drifts to note as yet.Winds slowly easing.
-
Overcast with moderate snow falling though the flakes are very small.Probably around 5 inches here now blowing around in a strong and gusty NE wind
-
Partly cloudy skies and yet another hard ground frost.Occasional flakes of snow falling but the sun is currently shining as well.

Still snowing here, started around 5pm probably got around 1inch so far.Mostly light but with the odd moderate fall as well.
-
Been snowing heavily here for around an hour now, probably around 2cm so far with big flakes.Didnt expect this!!.
-
Steady snow here at the moment, car roofs are covered and so are the pavements.Main road is completely clear though. Some decent sized flakes mixed in as well.
-
First snow of the year here, even if it is only a dusting.Very calm with a light NE breeze with partly cloudy skies.
-
Lovely morning here after overnight showers cleared.Partly cloudy skies with long sunny spells.Temperature currently at 8.4c in a fresh southerly wind.
-
Not had any Snow here as yet,it had been forecast twice but both times rained instead!!.Quite annoying really as literally 20 miles north of here people have been Skiing in the Peaks!!
-
We may get a dusting here in the East Midlands next Weds/Thurs if the charts prove to be correct. Not getting too excited though as we've had Snow forecast twice here in the last week but had nothing more than plain old rain!!.After next Thursday I think the chances decrease all together to be honest.
-
Raining heavily here at the moment but it is definitely turning to sleet.Still waiting for our first Snow of the season here!!
-
Dull, damp and drizzly here, also very calm with a little mist in the valley. Not what I was hoping for!!
-
This morning dawned clear and frosty here.Must gave had a shower during the night as the car was completely frozen over and I struggled to open the car doors as they were frozen shut. The rest of the garden seemed fairly frost free though.Cloud steadily increased during the day along with the wind.Bringing a few spots of rain here by late afternoon.

We seem to get our fair share of precipitation here in the East Midlands from all directions. We had plenty of thundersorms starting in the west of the country and then moving east through here I counted 9 here this summer in total. We did have a major shortage of snow from around 1996 until 2006/7 but the since then we have had plenty with the majority of it coming from the East or North with a slight dusting on Saturday morning from showers moving down the east of the country.Rainfall totals seem pretty average too with the west and north being most common directions. The Peak District is only around 20 miles miles north of here but very rarely seems to hinder the weather patterns.Maybe the lack of precipitation is to the SW of here maybe around Birmingham/Wolverhampton etc.

Thunderstorm moved through fairly quickly on the very gusty wind but I did manage to see 5-6 flashes and hear 6 or more rumbles of Thunder.Storm has moved away to my east.Feeling a lot fresher now too.
