  1. Mornin each. Clear and dry after rain last night, and wind has dropped. Patches of blue appearing to the South. Hope it stays dry as we're starting the move today. Have a good day, everyone,
  2. Here cometh the rain. And my word....it's gusting out there. The lamp post is swaying. :O I have a new pash. Watching YouTube videos of aeroplane cockpit views of landings and take-offs. Wonderfully exciting. Gives me goose bumps.
  3. It's turned very grey looking here and it's extremely windy. Could this be March coming in like the proverbial Lion? No rain though.....yet. My painted walls look fab. Love, Leonard O Davinci.
  4. Afternoon each. Bright and breezy here....(that's the weather, not me) We did have a frost overnight I think because when I went out for my last ciggie, the roofs were white. I got up and immediately started on the painting....just two walls but I'm k#$€+!?d. And cheap B&Q paint doesn't help. Aaaaaagh! Never again. Sooo, just catching up on posts folks. Hope you all have a good day. Enjoy.
  5. Ah, thanks, CR. I just looked that up and it mentioned a guy called 'Arvid'. That was it....The Arvid Effect. I knew it had been named after someone.
  6. I've just watched The Storms That Stole Christmas. They mentioned some 'effect' which causes the Jet Stream to move faster when something moves west to East instead of East to West. I didn't quite catch what that 'effect' was. Anyone know, please? It's blooming cold here and sky very clear.
  7. The spring has sprung the grass has riz I wonders where the birdies iz The birds are on the wing I heard Should not the wings be on the bird
  8. Afternoon each. What a typically spring like day it is right now. Overcast, but bright and slightly chilly but not unbearably so. I am now looking forward to warmer, sunnier weather as most of us here are; but as I keep saying, I did enjoy the high winds and drama of those Atlantic lows. Hope you all have a wonderful week-end whatever you're doing. And Hapus Dydd Gŵyl Dewi (Happy St David's day) if that's wrong, blame Google translate.
  9. I've got feet like a Yeti in relation to my height....I'm 4ft 11ins and a size 6. :O And I have four webbed toes.....on each foot. well, some of my distant ancestors were Fenlanders. It's still fine and dry here.
  10. Rain has stopped here now and I think it may be, not an overcoat, but at least a liberty bodice, warmer. Have a wonderful evening all whatever you are doing.
  11. No, Chilly, I'm staying with Linda until she sorts things out then I'm shipping out back to sunny Naarich. Must sort out Broadband as well or I won't be able to come here (NW) and that would NEVER do. Can you have Broadband without a phone? Must find out.
  12. Mornin each. Drizzly rain here, the kind that soaks you to your 'linen' if you're out in it long enough. And it's dull and quite chilly. I know many of you are glad to see the back of the meteorological winter, but I've enjoyed it (am I in a minority here?) I've enjoyed the strong winds immensely. I love it like that. But now I'm looking forward to Spring/Summer and some good, old fashioned thunder storms. You know, the kind that makes even hardened storm lovers run for cover. Thanks for that, Snow Raven. We are getting packed up quite nicely. Van and carpet cleaners booked and some painting touch-up jobs to be done. (Guess who's doing those?) Hope everyone is ok and if you DO have some snow flurries, enjoy. Have a good day everyone.
  13. After earlier rain, it's quite mildish now. I have my bedroom window open and it's lovely and fresh. just a gentle breeze to stir the diaphanous curtains. Doubt we will see any snow, sleet or anything like it tomorrow....at least I hope not. If we do, I'll eat my hat. It's a straw one, so it'll be some roughage. Have a good night, peeps. See you all tomorrow.
  14. Just had some rain here. Turned a tad chillier as well. Had a busy day packing up the kitchen and raking up a few memories. Awwww!! Ah well, off with the old and on with the new. Have a good evening you lovely people.
  15. @Tamara.....I can't wait until you're posting that there are massive thunder storms on the way. Ah bliss. Warm, sunny days and stormy nights with refreshing rain and lovely, fresh smells, and dripping, green leaves and..........I'll shut up now and get back to packing.
  16. I hope the weather is dry for the middle of next week. My niece is moving and it wouldn't be great in the wet or s**w. Still raining and very windy here but looking at the radar, it looks to be clearing into the North Sea. And the North Sea can keep it!
  17. Please, please do NOT bring the petty, school playground squabbling of the MOD thread onto this one. It's utterly ridiculous. We are ALL here because we have an interest in the weather. Some are more knowledgable than others and when they post, what some perceive to be, long and involved posts, ok, fine. That's good IMO as it gives me, a beginner something to learn from. Tamara and others are valuable members of the forums and their posts are welcomed by many of us on here. And I don't suppose any of them would wish to be bestowed with a halo......very uncomfortable to lug around I'm told. It's still raining anyway. :O
  18. Mornin each. Well, after a gorgeous day yesterday, it is pouring down here now. Hey ho....the good ol English Spring, eh. :O Re' Tamara, I reckon the people who are digging and taking cheap shots at her are jealous of her very measured and disciplined weather analysis, plus they cannot bear the thought of a woman being more talented than they are. Have a good day, all and try and stay dry.
  19. I'm looking forward to some, possible, cracking thunder storms this summer. All nighters, plumes and all that sort of thing. Night, night all. Sleep well.
  20. I just upset some customers in the local shop. They were all chatting about how beautiful it's been today when I piped up with...."yes, but snow is forecast for Friday" oh dear, you should've seen the faces. I omitted to tell them it wouldn't be much, so they'll all expect blizzards and chaos. Ha ha ha I am awful.
  21. All this nice weather and talk of Spring has made me think about planting up my old sink at home. It's like this (below) and I want loads of red and white geraniums in it....or mini conifers. Still a bit light here.
  22. Oh NO!! Well, it can stay away from this area. Not snow, not now we've had a taste of Spring. The birds and daffs will be having a nervous breakdown. :O Not to mention us lot. :O :O :O
  23. Afternoon each. What a beautiful day. It fills one with hope doesn't it when the sun shines. I am going back to Naaaarich after all, and I am quite pleased about it now. My head is full of plans (must be the nice weather) It's been a horribly stressful month or two but we can now see the light at the end of this tunnel. And it started as a stressful morning...so sorry if I sounded a bit short in my morning post. Wonderful news Snowlady. I am so happy for you, hun. Have a good rest of the day, folks.
