  1. Hi Guys, Well we always say the weather surprises us - snowing heavily with me in Welsh Valleys and I am off work again and my kids off school! Definitely NOT forecast up to the time I seen the charts last night! This will be more dangerous on top of last nights ice. Just gave a heavy snow warning for Wales on my regional forecast. Oops! JK
  2. S/East Wales 2.4 degrees 979 mb lots of snow - around 6/7 inches light thaw very overcast but brightening up No wind!! JK
  3. Gilfach Bargoed, South East Wales valleys, 850ft asl 2.6C (dropped 1 degree in last 20 minutes) 56% humidity 1008Mb Cloudy, cold wind, light sleet JK
  4. Hi Guys, I remember this with excitement. I still tell my kids about it! I had over 1 week off school as I live 1000ft Asl and we had blizzards and drifts from heaven. I remember having to get up early to go and queue for bread and milk as we only had a few shops in our small valley village and we were cut off due to the high and steep access routes to us. The drifts didn't help. I remember making igloos and someone in locality was killed/badly injured later after the snow had fallen as the igloo caved in on them. nasty. In all, an amazing 'last' period of consistently heavy snow that I can recall in my area, as stated previously, never to be repeated again in my lifetime. JK
  5. Bad news guys for me...hope you all get what you want with regard to snow, I have just had a pile of snow fall off my roof and the temperatue has risen for 1 Degree Celsius 1/2 hour ago to a balmy 3.2 degrees now...is the mild air expected to kick in this quick guys...Du Snow any idea ? Or is mor snow expected tomorrow?
  6. Thanks for the welcome guys. This will probably be a late night for me even though work in morning as I have not seen snow like this for about 20 years at least. My childhood has been revisited. Perfect snow for snowballs but uncanny as it does not make my hands cold ?
  7. Very HEAVY snow in S/East Wales, Rhymney Valley, 800ft ASL. Been snowing very heavy last 1 1/2 hours, snowing heavy for last 3 hours. We currently have betweeon 5 or 6 inches off the stuff, roads very bad and hills blocked with stranded cars. I just spent 12 hours on a 20 min journey about 9 pm, very hair raising. Just seems to be getting colder and extremely blizzard like conditions. Hope it continues and does not turn to rain in middle of night. This is phenomenally brilliant !! JK
