  1. Anyone ever wonder what life would’ve been like if this country had been abandoned centuries ago. I mean everything and everyone moved lock stock and barrel to say Australia. Leaving the cold, wind and rain behind. Pipe dreams I know but I just sometimes wonder if a scenario like this could ever have been played out.
  2. Looks like its over and out for summer 23 if the met office long ranger is to be believed. Unsettled with below average temps until mid August. I guess its the price you pay for a (mostly) blazing June.
  3. The second storm of the day has just rumbled through with very heavy rain and looking at the radar Leeds is in the firing line for more.
  4. I may be wrong but I seem to remember there was one Saturday in early July 2000 where it failed to reach double figures at Leeds Bradford Airport. However I do remember landing back from the Canaries on Fri 10th June 2011 at around 1630 and the temp was 10c. Fellow passengers were gobsmacked.
  5. As recent as last thurs was overcast, cold and windy. Not everyone has had clear blue skies and sun for weeks on end.
  6. 24c at the airport now and a lovely day. Even the easterly has now died down somewhat.
  7. Lovely clear blue skies here and the temp is already up to 18c. Still that nagging easterly though just taking the edge off it.
  8. Not a bad afternoon at all with plenty of sun after it broke the clags back around midday. Managed to reach 17.9c in my back garden which felt warm in the sun but in the shade the n/easterly was still chilly. I'll be glad to see the back of it and looking forward to some warmth. If it makes it this far north
  9. Good sunny spells here now since midday but still only 15c. The wind is cold & gusty as well.
  10. Proper cold here this morning. Fleece & wooly hat weather.
  11. The clag finally relented from here around 4pm and we've now got a temp of 16c. Better than nowt I suppose.
  12. Looks like the clag is breaking up from the south. Still a long way before it reaches my neck of the woods though.
  13. Cloudy all day here, with some light morning drizzle and a high of 14c. If June sun can't burn this crap away nothing can.
  14. Despite the cloud clearing by 10am and clear blue sky for the rest of the day I only reached a max of 17.8c.
  15. Who can complain? People who have had the exact opposite for many days on end now.
  16. I see the met office has pushed back the clearing of the clag here until after lunchtime. It's still tupperware grey although it is getting a tad brighter. One can only hope but it just goes to show how desperate things are when we wait with baited breath for less than half a days sun.
  17. But today I've not had even half of that. Even 15c would be nice.
  18. Yesterday was bad enough but today has been worse with the temp fluctuating between 9 & 10c on the car display during the drive home from work. Endless grey skies & and the wind is gusty & cold. Nothing growing in my greenhouse for weeks on end and now only 6 weeks or less till the nights start drawing in. They're right about a climate emergency but for the wrong reasons. Nothing can really make up for this crap. Roll on spring 24.
  19. Damp and dank again with mist, low cloud and rain. 7c with little or no wind.
  20. Low cloud, fog, mist and murk since daybreak. A cold damp feel to to day and with a current temp of just 8.9c a world away from the BBC forecast I've just watched.
  21. Grim all day with non stop rain and a max of 12.3c.
  22. Rain on & off for most of the day then heavy hail & thunder/lightning for a couple of hours around teatime. A max of just 10.7c in light winds.
  23. Overcast with sporadic light rain/drizzle (nothing like what was forecast) 12.2c in a light N/Easterly.
