  1. So, unsurprisingly, April turned out to be another duller and wetter than average month in most places. If May carries on like this, it will probably end up being one of the worst springs of the century (away from the far north).

  2. With the exception of the odd sunny day here and there, this has been another dire month overall. Recorded 90mm rain here (so far), making it even wetter than last March, and this is following on from the wettest February of all time. No sign of much improvement for the foreseeable future either.
