*Stormforce~beka* I was just in and out for a skin cancer operation. Sounds serious but isn't really. Just the type that can't spread. I grew up in the Channel Islands and got way too much sun as a kid. So I've been having various ops like this since around 2007. Most have been preventative (i.e. just removing suspicious moles) but a small amount were actual cancers. Advice to younger people on here: use sun screen!

Could have done with an ark yesterday, the road between the A38 and Frampton Cotterell was so flooded I had to do a U turn. Normally I'll chance a big puddle but this looked like it was 18" to 2' deep. Not seen flooded roads and fields like this in a good while. At least the sun peeped out occasionally.

Dorsetbred Interesting that TORRO used the phrase 'Tornado Warning', which of course means something different in the US, viz. there's either a tornado which has been visually ID'd by a trained spotter or there is radar indicated mesocyclonic rotation that looks like it might spawn a tornado. I guess most people over here would be a bit non-plussed if TORRO issued a 'Tornado Watch' ...

MP-R My car is fairly predictable out of the sun, it usually registers about 0.5-1.0 degree above what is the true temp. It reported 14 down in Portishead and 15 when I was up in Cribbs at lunchtime. I need to replace my home weather station as it's conked out, which is why I'm always guessing the temp somewhat! edit: Horfield (Marty Hicks) reported 14.1 max today, and the Clevedon station reported 14.6. So not too bad for this time of year.
