  1. Raining here as I type, despite Met Office stating that there's less than a 10% chance of rain at the moment. I suppose they technically aren't wrong, as they didn't say 0%
  2. Cloudy start to the day with sunny intervals. Some showers trying to cross the channel but seem to be getting capped out.
  3. Some brief rain showers in the area this morning, despite the Met Office stating a <5% chance of precipitation. Another rain cloud to the N but looks like it will miss us.
  4. Yes, saw that earlier. It confused me as the radar is fairly benign and today doesn't have a thundery feel to it. But then I actually read the forecast properly (ahem) and I can see that the potentially thundery weather is for tonight/tomorrow morning.
  5. Cloudyish here, with the sun trying to break through. Lots of rain yesterday and the grass is looking nice and green.
  6. Wall to wall sun today. Headed over the bridge for a cup of tea in Chepstow. Returned to the garden to discover that it's Flying Ant Day again.
  7. It's like April here today - sunny spells with some very sharp showers. Must be some pretty cold air aloft ...
  8. KH clouds typically occur at higher altitudes and in clearer skies with a decent amount of wind shear. Interesting pic nonetheless! On the note of wind shear, there will be strong shear later today at the westerly end of the M4, enough perhaps for a brief tornado. Probably will be too dark to see anything though.
  9. Lots of flooding on the roads in and around Bristol and Bath - just had the pleasure of driving through it all. No 'sferics so far.
  10. Mostly sunny here today, the forecast gloom didn't arrive after lunch and the afternoon was very pleasant. Looking like it could get quite lively over the next 24 hours. I'll be out and about trying to get footage of anything interesting.
  11. Lots of heavy drizzle this morning, typical warm front rain. The lawn's looking very green, which tells you what the weather has been like for the last couple of weeks.
  12. I lived there for about 9 months in 1989-90 and again, more briefly, in 1993. Both periods were spent in Madrid. The hot sunny days would seem to last for weeks on end. The street thermometers in the summer were always displaying well into the 40s, but the temperature was probably more accurately in the high 30s most days. It was a dry heat, but still tough. For my second stay there I took residence in the highlands to the N of the city, where it was a little cooler.
  13. I like variable weather also. I used to live in Spain and the constant hot and sunny weather used to bore me and grind me down.
  14. What alarms me is that the police didn't shut the beach the following day. It was not known what had caused the deaths, but they did know that riptides were a possible cause. So why leave further people, especially youngsters, potentially exposed to that same threat? On a weather note, heavy rain showers here this morning with the sun poking through every now and then.
  15. Soggy day. And a nasty little squall just about to hit. The unsuspecting dog walkers outside my house are going to get a drenching.
  16. Ah, went to visit a friend and also look for the tram system the council promised to build. (Couldn't find it.)
