  1. Growing up in the family home we had ducks and chickens (over a hundred) and all were pets and super tame, would think nothing of a duck or chicken popping in to the house and sitting on your lap whilst watching the TV, normally next to one of the cats, but we did have a barn owl, she was fantastic and sat on the curtain rail in the lounge so she could see everything, and would swoop down if you offered up a day old chick for a bite to eat, we never had to bother with gauntlets or such, she was that good.

Yes ours are the same everytime you open the window they peer inpost-17805-0-84807700-1390737119_thumb.jpost-17805-0-84807700-1390737119_thumb.j

  2. Hi just got back, it was frostier than I thought this morning, the car was covered in ice.I had my chest xray, won't know the result for a few days, it was a bit silly, it took three seconds, and took longer to undress and wear the gown thing. Good news!!!!!!!!!Southernman saw the consultant in the clinic this morning and it ISN'T a TIA!!!!!!!!!!!  They discovered that when he moves, his blood pressure is fluctuating wildly, and they said that the symptoms of confusion and slurred speech are down to that, so they have reviewed his medication and found that one of them is the culprit, and he should be ok now they have altered the dosage. I have been so worried! He didn't even need a scan, they discovered it immediately they started doing observations on him when he first went in.I don't know why it wasn't picked up in casualty when he went in, but maybe because he was on a trolley at that time and so wasn't moving at all, this morning he was walking and sitting in the clinic. Anyway, on the way back the fog was very thick and at times it was very dark, not just light, it was a strange and eerie effect. Still very cold outside.

    Fantastic news so pleased x

  3. Southernman has some friends here he talks to occassionally, though he isn't as chatty as me, just to let you know, he was taken ill this afternoon and they think he has had a kind of mini-stroke, they are giving him a scan on Tuesday to confirm it. Bad news.I am wondering how much more we have to go through.

So sorry to hear this I hope for a full speedy recovery
  4. Afternoon all, A bright but nippy day here, at least it stayed dry for a change, was hoping to just get home at settle in the for night, but need to go out for milk (pah! the milk left in the fridge has turned :( ) Might go via the library and see if they have the best marigold hotel dvd still on the shelf and borrow that to watch.

    Brilliant film can highly recommend!
  5. Morning all, being extra careful on liking posts today :/ well it was a chilly but pleasant start here, as I speak sun is shining throughthe window and feels like we are at the start of spring. As someone who goes like a kid when it comes to snow and crave it im beginning to feel that id rather just skip to the warm stuff now ( without sounding like im throwing my toys out the pram) I just dont want it to be cold over spring it just doesnt feel right.

  7. I seriously wish those strong gusts would drop, fearing the final fence panel will go with not much more of a push.

Oh dear, the MAD has started again tonight I see; can't wait to see what happens when actual cold and s**w start showing in proper time frames. What lucky chaps and chappesses we are to have all the nice people who know what they are talking about in our very own regional thread Posted Image

    Here here!

Any way odd showers here what with that and after a night shift and one more to go I figured today is a day for pjs and staying in the warm and dry!!
