I think Silverstone for the British GP this year was my worst ever camping experience!

I am no expert on the matter but I have been keeping half an eye on solar output this year since the aurora was visible over the north York moors earlier this year. It does seem to pep up mid month before going quiet again towards the end of the month and then start of new month. I was a bit disappointed earlier this week when it looked like it might be able to see northern lights from my location only for Kp level to drop by the evening. Having said that I noticed on the BBC that there were some pictures people had sent in from Scotland so it was a case of close but no cigar for me.

Does the high melt mean SSTs are colder than normal and will therefore re freeze faster and easier than years where the melt has been less severe?

I think the change in weather patterns since 2007 is probably because I bought a covertible and moved to a small village on the edge of the North Yorks Moors. Roof up most of all summers since and pretty impossible to get anywhere in some of the recent winters. Just want to say another thank you for all the great posts, really interesting reading!

Hi everyone I normally just read the posts on this forum as well as the posts over on the weather outlook because I don't really feel I have anything to add.
