  1. Back on again. Most persistent it has been. Bottle of Ale in one hand, curtains ajar to see lamppost up the street. Beats the garbage on the telly hands down
  2. Snow again in Nunthorpe , quite heavy, maybe laying
  3. Just had some very wet snow in that last shower. Back to rain now. In Nunthorpe in Middlesbrough if you needed to know
  4. I read the mod thread but it drive me nuts. 1). A great snowy chart but at plus 10 days is to be disregarded as FI 2). Charts showing no snow potential at Plus ten days are to be regarded as spot on and the rest of the month is written off 3) a snowy chart at five days and everyone is delighted 4) very next model run and snow is now not a done deal. People despair, models only get worse and before you know it it will be zonal mush. Looking forward to a bit of cold
  5. Very thin covering at 06.30 gone now and the lighest of light snow falling or mizzling
  6. something wet and white was falling from the sky for at least a minute not a total non event
  7. According to the Bbc website it's currently snowing. The lampost and my eyes say differant. Goes to show how you can't trust the BBC website, they have even got a story on it that England scored eight.
  8. I'm in Gods own Boro now. Would like to watch some falling. Not looking likely
  9. So nothing happening snow wise for us this weekend?
  10. biggest flakes of the morning so far at the moment. looks like its going out in style
  11. that's a bit late 21.30. If roads haven't been treated then I think its time to pack up and go home. We all know the difficultiies in predicting the weather but if actiuon isn't taken when warnings are given then whats the point~?
  12. Was this forcast at all? looked last night and 'the odd wintry flurry' was mentioned
  13. About an inch with moderate falling at the moment. Radar looks good too
  14. I've put yesterdays results into the computer and the ensembles do not make pretty Reading. They point to a massive shower over Burnley on Tuesday. Then sporadic outbreaks of sunshine for the rest of the season but with overriding low expectations the theme persists. The pub run has us finishing sixth though!
  15. havn't even got a cm. Took her indoors over an hout to get back from Darlo. Grit every where in Stockton and Boro, but not where its is needed it seems
  16. well thank you for sharing your fuller understanding. Most enlightning
  17. Has it been difficult to forecast? The weather today, was always going to happen like this. Whatever building blocks it required were all in place. We just haven't got the technology to have the required understanding It's the weather it will always do what it is going to do. Most of the time we don't have a clue
  18. Some things are just best left to the mystery of the universe. We want to know but we can't. The future's not ours to see que sera sera Here's a forecast. The next time the Boro win, it will snow.
  19. Caution? Issuing warnings and then nothing when as you say the set up was marginal? Sounds like panic stations to me. In my mind weather is chaos. It doesn't follow models what's the point in trying to predict it. Surely football results are easier to predict.
  20. Rain here. Another magnificent forecast from the pro's. What's the point of models etc etc. If they can't be relied upon at 36 hrs have we progressed in the last 50 years?
  21. I'm glad I took heed of the met office's early yellow warning. Tinned food for three months. 18 loaves of bred, snow tyres bought and 3000kg of grit. Now time to hunker down for the night and watch the snowfall
