The slightest of dustings this morning....yay LOL ???
-
Bugger all here in the Fen’s as per usual.....?
-
Well we get the cold in which is the first part of the battle and different to the last few years....
I imagine the models will throw out a fair few solutions over the next day or so!
-
Looks like it's going to be 5 years with out laying snow for me now looked out the window this morning and nothing! All who have some snow enjoy it!!!
-
Had some snow earlier now turned to rain, the snow didn't settle anyway. Not even seen a dusting for four years now.
those that have snow make the most of it!!!
-
Not one flake here not even sleet, just rain! Not seen a snowflake for 4 years now... Glad others are having some luck though

Didn't realise that John, will check out the met o site from now on and see if their forecasts are any better! There is of course a difference between the BBC outputs, both model and spoken compared to the official Met O site.
Don;'t ask me why but I have posted about this time and again.
Cheers for the info

To be fair this year for my area the Beeb forecasts have been absolutely rubbish being 9 times out of 10 completely wrong, so much so that on a few occasions I have had to stop myself from being a grumpy old so and so and writing in to complain! Half the time the morning forecast is completely different from the night before and is still utter tosh!
This goes for both the national forecast and the regionals, with only the countryside forecast being at least half decent some of the time.
My feeling at the moment is that the forecasts can't get any worse......

Ahh it's good to see that this old chestnut is still raging on
I remember arguing/discussing with stratos ferric (if I remember the user name correctly) and others years and years ago on here in this section. In the end I have up posting here due to the strong views on both sides.
Back then GW seemed almost to be a new religion........
It will be interesting over the next few weeks, to see if anything has changed on either side :o

Same for the fens

Got the odd flake here in Peterborough after hours of rain and sleet, cant see it settling, proper disappointed

Just when you think you've seen it all, the model thread turns into a snooker thread - the most boring sport known to mankind - noooooooooooooo!!!
As it stands though, we're in for a serious weather period with a heck of a lot happening, and a lot of changes possible in the output - time to knuckle down and watch this all step by step...
Agree with you there, was getting a little surreal!!
Quite apt as my 1000th post, an off topic one

The best charts I have ever seen on here, the next best ones disappeared from the next run if I recall correctly......?
One step at a time....

Then that would make your bike tyres 8 feet tall. Are you a giant?
lol paul
yes as it happens........
-
Managed to get a 15 mile bike ride in this morning, was good fun snow depth was 4-5 inches and more in the drifts!
Took that pic as went to get off my bike and it stayed upright
-
Hope we get some larger flakes soon (I like em ), would say i have around 2 inches of snow, its all been what I call snizzle
keeping my fingers crossed for a dumping but doubtfull ......
-
It certainly looks to be interesting, looking forward to the Autumn weather the models are showing at present.
Kold - think your right backing the Atlantic at the moment.

Save anyone looking it if by chance they want to.
Prediction is very difficult, especially if it's about the future.
How about this one, its one of my favs:

Anyone with any performance data on this Weather Logistics UK company?
-
First I have heard about this company, anyone have any data on how well they have been performing?
-
So we've now established leicester has a wind shield too !
Definitely the safest place to live in the UK weather wise

Had a 0.5cm covering this morning, most of it had melted by lunch. Still least we saw a dusting of snow from this “beast” ????
