  1. Have to say im with you on that outcome West looks to be an interesting few days model wise. My preferred model has always been the ECM which i find normally preforms slightly better then the GFS, however recently it seems to be struggling somewhat! Time will tell.........
  2. Nothing special as still learning, just a pic of the frost this morning
  3. Thanks for the information Viking I'm certainly looking forward to going back there, the beaches are all grey due to the volcanic activity, its a beautiful place and strange in a way to know your staying on an active volcano! Will definitely be keeping my eyes open on this thread (just in case lol) Thank you again
  4. I have a lacross good stations, i have no probs with it at all. (touch wood lol)
  5. Hi Viking, Well done on a fascinating thread! I visited Santorini a few years back (A stunning place) The views from Santorinis Caldera are amazing!, I hope to go back again this year, so any information you find/dig up would be most interesting!
  6. Good morning Grey Wolf, hope your well? I am feeling the effects from too much wine last night Thanks I will have a look at that thread this weekend! Global dimming is indeed becoming documented, that however does not make it a fact, its still a theory. A theory which is believed to be reversing over the last decade? Has this reversal had any effect on the warming cycle/trend over the last decade? What there needs to be is data that puts this rise down to mans polluting, for instance I can go back a few thousand years and give you a temp rise similar to this one, how shall we explain this one? Its like me seeing someone smoking a cigarette at 11 o'clock and then going to look at my the data from my weather station, seeing it start to get warmer around that time and putting that down to that person having a crafty one. Crude analogy but you know what I'm getting at! Again you need to distinguish this warming spell from the many thousands that have happened in the past and back up why this is not natural but man made?
  7. Sorry to jump in on this thread have been meaning to poke my head in here for some time but never get around to it. Also please note have not looked at the rest of this thread even, if I get a chance I will this weekend! (Honest) What would convince me is absolute scientific data mapping the temp changes right from the industrial revolution. An explanation of why there has always been temp changes through out our planets life, and why this temp cycle/rise is any different from previous ones that humankind had no ability to effect or contribute to it. I am not blinkered, and if I am wrong I have no qualms about admitting that. I don't dismiss anything out of hand no matter what I believe. Unfortunately I have come across absolutely no data yet to prove this theory is anything other than just that. Yes the media have done this with GW, why try to report on a subject they have absolutely no understanding of? I am sorry but it really irritates me. For me its not about refusing to believe, you show my sufficient evidence then fine, its about being almost hoodwinked by the media with dodgy science! Ps- the flat Earth society, you have to love them
  8. Hey Pooksly you must be looking forward to midweek, its looking mighty breezy
  9. Have to say canadiancoops, its a fantastic picture with perfect composition!
  10. thought i would have a go! i took these at local display, think they came out ok
  11. i have not gone through this entire thread due to the fact i have to work for a living and also juggle a life around this weather obsession of mine. However having glanced through some of the posts i find it surprisingly depressing to see a lot of people chucking the phrase GW about without obviously having the faintest idea what they are blithering on about. If your going to argue about the science of GW then please a little research might be in order, though judging from some it looks like they have not even "Googled" the subject! I blame the media. Sorry for the rant fokes........
  12. Thanks a lot for your reply John, you are always very helpfull! ps- i wont do it just yet then!
  13. Hi i went ahead in purchasing the ws3600, so far (touch wood) its been fantastic! However i am a bit stuck in trying to find out my relative air pressure? Please could someone help or point me in the right direction? I am in peterborough aprox 10 mile above sea level. Sorry if its a dumb question! thanks
  14. cheers for your swift reply i was after a station that gives me dew point as the ws3600, does the hobby?
  15. Hi didnt want to open a new thread so thought i would steal this one! I am thinking of getting the lacrosse ws3600 just wanted to know if anyone else has one of these and wheather they are any good..........
  16. I do think that this winter will continue the trend of last years, i believe that we are now in a weather cycle where the "seasons" start becoming seasons again! This winter will be much like last years colder then the "GW even larger teapot" fanatics make out. Over the next few years i predict a cooling trend, this winter will be slightly colder then last years but nothing to go mad about, as to snow and the such, i will leave that to the experts..................lol
  17. I have to concur, this winter for my area (to date) has been very encouraging! we had more frosts in Nov then we did in the whole of last winter! While the white stuff has been sparse compared to a decade ago, the snow at the end of December saw us get a good covering, the best we have had here for years! I am certainly enjoying the cold and frosts
  18. Ian, please stop using words like encouraged, as coming from you i am starting to get ramped up lol i use your posts as a grounder so as not to get too disapointed, and be realistic!! Now all we need is WIB to say theres a chance.......... (then we really will need a new definition of ramping) <_<
