Finally it's officially cr*pping it down!
-
Just a few miles west of you and I've been sat under this narrow squall line for 2 hours now! Crazy amounts of rain.
I know I know! Coming down a bit harder now but not sure we will see anything close to what you have had - or indeed north London (among other places)
-
Well that was an anticlimax for us SW Londoners. It's like it hit a brick wall and was sapped of energy! Squall lines are normally fairly predictable in their movement. This one is just bizarre!
-
Bizarre, nothing particularly heavy in Twickenham yet and in fact it has temporarily stopped.
-
Flash bang to my NW!
-
absolute biblical rain here.. lots of surface water
RAIN123 no wind here what so ever and I mean not even a gust... Very strange!!
Looking at the radar there could be some serious rainfall totals in our neck of the woods!
-
Plenty of rain here but not heard any thunder yet...
-
Decent tower has gone up to my south-east. Picked up nicely on radar too...
-
The rain has stopped and the clouds are starting to break up (sort of)
-
First distant grumble
-
Just been called by inlaws in Saltdean (east of Brighton) to say they have never seen rain like it and their road is a torrent...

Northwards progress painfully slow for us Londoners! Must do some work...

Jesus!!!!! Wooooaha
Saw that one!
-
Distant flashes now visible from my trusty loft to the west!
-
Another brief but this time heavy shower from innocuous looking alto-cumulus!
-
An unexpected light shower here from some very fragmented AC

East London getting all the action right now by the looks of it!
-
Amazing how quickly things evolve. Had 15-20 cracks of thunder in just a few minutes which have now mostly died away. Still quite a lot of lightning but all elevated now...
-
Kicking off here now with big rain drops and frequent thunder/lightning both north-east, east, and south!
-
BIg CG to my south, big thunder too, with very little build up, only the third audible rumble...
-
First very faint rumble from the cell to my south. Another cell flashing to east-south-east...

Starting to rain lightly
Alps & Pyrenees Snow Thread 2015/16

Good to see the thread back - will try and contribute more this year. In my opinion, there is always too much panic about lack of snow at this time of year. There have been plenty of great winters that haven't got going properly until well into December. Last year's bad start (where some resorts had no snow at all until after Christmas) was exceptional - a once in a generation event for the north-western Alps. Things can and often do change very quickly and there have been signs of a pattern change towards week 3 of November for some time (no guarantees of course).
