I would rather that cold builds where it is and then it can flood western europe when its winter. I want cold late december jan and feb not early november or early december for that matter
Correct, it would be a wasted Easterly at this time of year, we would just end up with cold rain.

A few flood warnings been issued for our local rivers this evening.
All helps towards our reservoirs return to something like near normal levels.

Flash of lightning and thunder here in South Yorkshire right now. Torrential rain too.

Just had an almighty storm driving home from work here in South Yorkshire, drains on main roads were struggling to cope with the rain.

Big change in weather today, very dull and only 16'c with a few light showers.

Big change in the weather here in South Yorkshire today, much cooler, only around 15'c and persistent rain heavy at times.
Feeling very much like autumn.

It's funny how the common argument in the MOD thread is, "You're wrong, this is what's going to happen." "No, you're wrong and just typing what you want to happen." And so on and so forth.
It's weather! You're all wrong and all right until it actually happens!
Just been thinking that myself reading today's posts.
I usually keep open minded about any weather beyond 5 days.
I think some want and think the dry weather will go on forever, especially those that have still seen very little rain.
All droughts come to an end, I still think we'll end up with too much rain at some point during autumn.
Just a guess being more than 5 days away.

Glad to see back of the hot humid conditions, much cooler today and we've had some welcome rain overnight.
As we now head towards end of month we'll hopefully won't see a return to any extreme heat, just a few days of warm sunny weather.

Opened all doors and windows at 6am this morning and within minutes house was cooler.
Nights are getting longer now giving more time for temperature to fall.
We was down to around 13'c this morning which was a degree or two down on yesterday morning.

I think they might have over done it with today's predicted temperatures here in South Yorkshire, 28.5c in my garden at moment, doesn't feel that hot sat in shade with a bit of a breeze blowing.

Although The BBC website is still quite adamant about a breakdown on Monday (and has been for a few days now).
BBC Look North still forecasting a big change to cooler and unsettled conditions early next week for here in Yorkshire.
Expected really as we head into second half of August.

I haven't got numbers but must have had a lot of rain overnight and it's still coming down, large pools and puddles on all roads out there.

We've had heavy rain overnight here in Yorkshire, had rain most days for over a week now, lawns and everything is turning green again.

Here in West Yorkshire I certainly consider this the worst 18C+ month In memory. A mildly impressive middle third sorrounded by a very average month.
Its been same here in South Yorks and it doesn't look much better over coming days having just watched BBC weather 7 day forecast on news channel.

Decent covering here in Rotherham after a period of moderate snow during early hours, still a few tiny flakes coming down now.
