Looking out the window now it looks like Autumn has already arrived!

Certainly does, cloudy, wet at times and very blustery today which as taken edge off warmish temperatures.

Last weeks heatwave seems like a distant memory, next couple of days at least look like being more autumnal too.

I remember seeing snow in Sheffield as a child in May cant remember what year it was exactly but i am sure it was early 90s.

We had Snow on a few occasions in May here in South Yorkshire in 1970s, mostly settling on hills around Sheffield, I remember Concord Park having a few cms one afternoon.

The GEFS 6z mean suggests it will become more anticyclonic for a time towards / during mid month before being replaced by a shallow trough regime… ..for sure it becomes a rather flabby pattern! …in my opinion? …neither unsettled or settled..kind of in between..on balance!

Recipe for April Showers. Horrible if an heavy shower comes along but can feel pleasant in any prolonged sunshine.

Just a shame no real interesting weather conditions are on offer. No notable cold and no notable warmth. More 'interesting' synoptics bringing as mundane conditions as a general westerly would in December...

I do have my eye on a potential southerly incursion in week 2 however. It's showed up a few times now. Will be ready for a sun top up by then!

Depends on the location because 30cm of Snow is expected on hills of Scotland this week.

Fed up of being cold.  Just want those 20°C+ to start showing up later this month and into May.  Hoping we get a load of 30°C days this summer, perfect for the beer garden

Nice for sitting in beer garden but unpleasant for working in, 24'c my preferred maximum temperature when working.

We should be starting plume season, but alas, watered down northerlies and bitter windchill with cold rain/sleet for all to enjoy

Being Hampshire location I wouldn't expect to see much if any snow on a Northerly at any time of year, never mind Spring.

We did quite well up here in Yorkshire yesterday, Snow on and off all day with temperatures not that much above freezing. Had another dusting overnight as well.

Wintry start to spring if  you go with 21st March as start of spring, of course if this was Winter you would expect none of these charts to verify, but different story in spring time, how predictable is this getting now , remember last spring and all the blocking over Greenland, here we go again.

Still over a week away them charts so might be completely different come then. I'm still putting my sun cream on standby.

^^ That easterly wouldn’t bring anything of interest snow wise so may as well have spring ??‍♂️

I always look to North for anything wintry once we get to end of March, Europe is starting to warm but the polar air likes to spread South, especially once we hit April.

An Easterly could bring Spring like conditions in sunshine away from east coast.

  9. Easterly or not once you get to March we're not guaranteed any serious cold weather, the sun is getting stronger now and it could give us some pleasant weather away from chilly East coast.

As we head towards April I always look to North for any wintry weather.
