So Alford, Aboyne, Ballater, Huntly and the surrounding villages.. im sure the guys up that way will give you better advice..

An hour east of Aberdeen will be very wet... or an oil rig... Honestly anywhere inland above 100m will do the job for you.. But obviously the higher the better.. Huntly always seems to be a good bet or the surrounding areas..Grantown on spey or Strathdon are the gold label asl wise or Braemar

Snaw is on... big flakes too..

Took the dog out for a walk about 8pm.. and was caught in a very light snaw shower.. almost clear skies overhead but it was definitely snawing from the patch of cloud directly above me, even saw it in car lights.. lasted about 30 seconds...

Not to sure as didnt go out and measure but that video was not to far off what we maxed out at.. so would say about 6 to 8cm...

I had better buy more beer.. snawed in for Christmas surrounded by family food and a few beverages sounds absolutely perfect.. might even treat the family and turn the heating up to 20c...only for the big day itself mind..

Its a bit marginal here now... sleety pish with the odd burst of snaw. When it is snaw the flakes are massive. Like handkerchiefs falling from the sky.. its been a great day. The dogs had fun I've had fun and most importantly the kids have had fun and will always remember the day that dad closed school for a snaw day..❄❄

Really heavy snaw now falling... it keeps changing from big flakes to really fine flakes so im assuming that means its marginal here now. If this is all i see out of this cold spell then its been great. Day after day of hard frosts and ice days followed by a heavy snaw fall all in the first 16 days of winter in Perth...

Some really heavy returns on the radar heading my way.. no sign of any dripping or melting so will assume it will be snaw..❄❄

Big gap on the radar... but some really heavy stuff out west looks like it could give us another spell of heavy precipitation... will it be snaw??

Well I've taken the kids out for some family time and some fun running through the snaw and snaw ball fights and screams of delight.. for me this is what snaw is all about.. kids and dad having fun and the pure joy it brings.. memories for ever..
