Yes meto now have warning out for weds for Northern Ireland too. Basically eastern counties. Said there could be up to 20cms in eastern counties of Northern Ireland!! Don’t get it as there text forecast this morn was utterly crap.

Yes my initial fears of 4 or 5 days ago look more of a reality for the north. Not much snow about. The best easterly in years and The east still can’t manage to get decent snow. I think I am officially giving up of ever seeing any decent snow here in my lifetime! ? looks like that Belfast telegraph article on the north staying generally dry is bang on the money. Nearly every met office region forecast is for disruptive snow except you guessed it, Northern Ireland. You couldn’t make it up really. You have got to laugh. ?? hopefully change but i doubt it now. Though met eireann say disruptive snow possible in northern counties?? How can it be so different. Strange.

The Mod thread is completely bonkers. Yest they said to ignore all snow acc / forecast charts because they are not worth the paper they are written on. Now its showing snow in their location and they are 100 % accurate and quotes flying everywhere about how much snow they are going to get. Unreal

I remember my last NE/E and not much snow was forecast. What happened? Showers started popping up everywhere in the Irish Sea and we ended up with snow after snow after snow showers. A good lot of this snow will not be forecast until the day or hrs before. It will be radar watching. Exciting times that's for sure. But what will be will be in the end of the day! Beers in fridge though just in case.

That will do me because that sort of snow can accumulate quite nicely. Hopefully change to heavier snow if a wee streamer takes hold. PS Nice we update from Met Eireann though ! "It will turn progressively colder from Tuesday onwards with severe frosts and with snow showers becoming more widespread. Some disruptive accumulations are likely especially in the east and southeast. Met Éireann will be issuing snow/ice warnings.

Dry for east of northern ireland then by looks of it. Models look great for us for snow but prob back track nearer the time. Met office mention accumulating snow possible on tuesday

Are you talking about Ireland or just Northern Ireland because it looks good for the whole East Coast of Ireland and central areas to a certain extent. Obviously NW areas at the moment prob will not see much in the initial stage but should improve later

Depends how strong an easterly hits us. I’m not saying we won’t get snow I’m just saying i don’t think it’s going to be as much as some people think for us this far west. But if convection does happen it could be great for snow chances especially in the east. Just to early at the minute to call in relation to snow. But at min dry and cold is s good shout for me up till Tuesday avo.

I would say that is a fairly accurate prediction to be fair. This weekend will be dry and cold as will Mon and most of Tues bar the odd snow shower in the East. He mentions the possibility of snow into March which is when the models are showing the most snow possibilities for us popping up.

Ah MS that’s a tad harsh. He’s only saying what he thinks may happen. Like me I’m sure he would love a dollop of snow but just a bit concerned the high is a bit south keeping us out of the game a tad and more cold and dry than cold and snowy. That of course could happen but so could dry and cold. Anyway I agree the ECM is a cracker. Hope it verifies.

Havnt posted at all with reference to this easterly because to be honest I’m far from convinced it is going to be that bad at all. As with most easterlies and the reason we rarely have them is because they generally get watered down, don’t make it here as they are not strong enough or basically hit Europe instead. I still feel regardless what models are showing this will he the form horse. Yes it will get colder but I don’t see bucket loads of snow or mass blizzards and people being cut off. Clearly I hope I’m wrong as one final blast would be nice but to be frank I’m so looking forward to spring now. But maybe once the phantom will show it’s face but sadly I don’t think that severe an easterly is inbound.

Yes warm Spring. Think Iv just about had enough looking for any more snow here. Just doesn’t happen much anymore. So I would now rather have bbq and beers. We will see if the models prove right. Been down this road to many times with wonderful charts showing that come to zilch.

Well we will see soon enough. If i don’t get snow from this easterly I might as well give up! Prob miss me and NW get it all again! Ps. It must be great to have had that much snow that u don’t mind missing out on more. That’s a sign of a good winter all right.

Couldn’t agree more. Not that Iv had much of a winter anyway. Least we won’t have to put up with warning after warning coming to nothing in the east. BBQ and beer. The sooner the better in my eyes.
