Afraid not mate all gone the shape of a pair again!
Only joking. Still on!
Damn you, you had me there for a second! hahaha
-
Been away all day. Is the snow still on?
-
Sky getting very dull here, although I don't see much ppn on the radar. I wonder will we get a flurry?
-
Has that ppn been constantly dumping on Calais/Dunkirk for the past 24 hours? Seems like it!
-
Mine has stayed 95% Friday and Saturday, and also has gone from 0% to 95% on Sunday. I wouldnt take much notice of these though..
-
The front still has to cross Ireland and the Irish sea, could weaken it an awful lot. It may not even get further east than Oxford/Reading. It would need to be one mother of a front to get the whole way over to London/east coast
-
This happens EVERY time. I'm not one bit surprised. Been chasing our tails all winter
-
I'm still expecting downgrades for here the closer it gets. Always happens. There's still a lot that can change, its not nailed yet
-
Ok this is starting to get exciting now, but I'm going to be cautious until I can actually see it on the radar an hour beforehand that it is going to reach us.
-
There would want to be a hell lot of ppn in that front if the east is to get much or anything from it as we're at the end of the line
-
I think I'll remain on the fence until a couple of hours before the event, if it even happens. Too many letdowns lately to be optimistic about this one
-
I know yr.no is is unreliable and changes constantly, but this forecast makes me happy

Is it possible that the band of ppn from the west could stall when it hits the cold airmass and never actually get as far east as London?
-
Wow, 95% risk of snow Friday and Saturday? That's surely overdone! Beginning to look forward to it now, but still cautious
-
I'm not liking the fact that Met have no warnings at all for Fri/Sat for London/SE England. Hopefully this will change and we wont fall between two stools once again
-
The ppn off the east cost looks interesting. Any chance a Thames streamer could set up?
-
I wonder if this line of precipitation coming down from the north sea could be in line to get as far as London? Looks like its almost headed in the right direction if it doesnt fizzle out, which it probably will. Could be good for East Anglia anyway..
-
It would take a lot for the ppn heading south off the E coast to suddenly head west...I dont see it happening.
-
Because they are forecasting winds to veer northeast, which means this region will be in the firing line for showers coming in off the north sea. If you look at the radar now you can see a long line of showers skirting the southeast moving north-south into Europe as the winds are more northerly. A shift in wind and that precip is more likely to hit the southeast
Oh I see! Not going to get my hopes up though, but still, interesting how this type of weather things can change so easily at short notice

Why is there a snow warning for London for tonight? There isn't any ppn on the radar headed for here
http://www.metoffice...t_warnings.html
EDIT: oh wait, that was issued last night up til midnight tonight, obviously things have changed but the warning is still in place
-
I wonder if that intensifying line of ppn coming on to NE cost heading S could make it this far south? I'd guess no
-
I can quote numerous others if you like, it does not have to be just a Thames Snow Streamer event for London to get pasted. Lots of snow to be had last February 2012, and in the years just before 2010 frontal snow and snowfall coming up from France hit the Capital some winters.
But if you are looking for anything more than a 1cm and gone by lunch time jobbie they have been numerous as well in the winters 1992, 1993,1994,1996,1997,1998,1999,2000,2001,2002,2006
So a bleak run from the above!
Also seem to remember 1988 and 1989 with no snow at all over the winter if memory serves me right!
Yeah I suppose we've just been unlucky so far this week. Hopefully our turn will come. If not, theres still February
-
87, 09, 10 were all exceptional events though. Hopefully we'll get something here this winter! Even a few cms would be fine, most we've had so far this week was a dusting on the cars the night before last. Friday looks good, but it seems these always downgraded the closer we get
-
Can be,However Thames Streamer can bring the goods and for a long period of time. Im pretty sure This thread will do very well shortly.
Interesting. Does it take much for such a setup to occur? Is it a rare occurrance?

This front to the west looks like it has stalled just west of london?
