  1. Despite hearing rain in the night there was a few cms of wet snow this morning.
  2. Rain and sleet here in the west now. edit: Scrap that. Back to snow at sea level in Greenock.
  3. Certainly caught a few showers after I went to bed. Got around 8cm overnight.
  4. I should catch the southern edge of that. Story of the evening for me, only catching the edges of the showers. Don't know how cold it is out, but given I've just had to prise the bin lid up with a crowbar, I'd say very!
  5. Caught the edge of the blob currently heading for South Ayrshire. Heavy for a time and lay instantly on the frozen surfaces.
  6. Currently catching that shower. Grass was all but green 15 mins ago. Looks like a few beefy showers starting to line up for this direction.
  7. Nothing more than a covering on the grass here. Showers are too much from the northwest and most are missing my location.
  8. Didn't feel that cold today. Rain now on with a bit of sleet against the window in the heavier bursts. Looking good for me tomorrow with the met office automated symbols showing heavy snow showers throughout the day. Monday and Tuesday not without potential either.
  9. Clear skies this morning but a covering overnight on the grass and paving. It has half melted and now frozen solid on the road.
  10. Around 4cm overnight which is a little more than I thought I might get.
  11. Very light snow here but the dry ground is turning white.
  12. Drizzle and low cloud. A great few days. I have not far off 23cms which is the most I've had in years.
  13. Given I wasn't even in the yellow warning area, I was not expecting this today. 3 and a half hours of very heavy snow so far. Looks like it will clear through soon, after one last blob in the radar. You can tell the temperature is on the rise however. Been great whilst it lasted.
  14. Cold one thus evening. Car reading -5 and the roads are just sheet ice.
  15. Been around freezing all day and the car currently says -2. Had a walk around the village earlier. Dry, crunchy snow rather than the usual West of Scotland wet mush. Been to the shops this afternoon and I can confirm there is snow in Kilmarnock!! Albeit not that much. Looking a bit meh after tomorrow. Hopefully February brings some more fun.
  16. Left work early in the drizzle and the run home was a mix of rain sleet and slush, even at relatively high levels. Got to about 3 miles from the house when conditions changed in the space of a few hundred metres. Roads compacted snow polished to ice an at a ground complete standstill. Headed off up the back roads where the Firestone Winterhawks came into their own and managed home. Just measured and got 18cms lying from this week. The most for me since 2010. Looking at the radar, I should make 20cms.
  17. Apparently the roads at home are an absolute riot. This will be a fun run home!
  18. Bright sunshine in Greenock but very heavy snow reported at home with that next big blob looking like it will be on a similar course.
  19. It's raining here, and I am at 130 metres. The Killie snowshield must be fully extended.
  20. Currently snowing at sea level in Greenock. Alternating between sleet and wet snow but wasn't expecting to see that so low down today.
  21. Light, occasionally moderate snow on and off for much of the evening. Has given a slight covering anywhere the lying snow has been cleared. The heavier band to the south doesn't look like it is making it any further north. Friday looking like a repeat of Tuesday possibly?
  22. Hmm, not particularly heavy but it has turned to wet snow here now. A slushy covering on the cars and drive I cleared earlier.
