  1. Those are the evolution's I'm looking for, we'll see if one can happen while we have this high.
  2. Today's high was 5.5, now we are already down to 2.3, may be we will be colder tonight than last night and get a frost. We'll see, it was still 3.3 at midnight last night. Edit: wowsers down to 1.7 now, temp dropping like a stone. Even on the coast.
  3. Temp is now up to 3.7 with a slight Easterly breeze. Pressure still heading up currently at 1034.18
  4. Cars often find it harder to start when cold, older cars used to have a choke, I expect this is now done by computer instead. Problem could be with that sensor.
  5. No frost here, over night low of 0.6 up to 0.9 now.
  6. 3.6 which is quite cold for here at this time. Dp is -1 if any moisture does happen to unexpectedly show up.
  7. Frost warning I expect, although I'll just have to lamppost watch to make sure now lol. I get where the wording comes from as, the ice and snow warnings are under one banner, I doubt any snow will be around.
  8. I think we should be watching for quick changes once the cold gets in, if we can get a good under cut, or the high moves slightly north and west, we are in business here in the SE. Of course the high may just sink, which will then warm things up. That seems to be a while away yet.
  9. By the way, was it supposed to be windy today, wind is blowing between 35-40 mph here at the min, bringing with it low DP. Currently that's at -0.2, temp still at 4.5 though.
  10. over night low 4.9 here, up to 5.9 now, sunny.
  11. It's angled differently though, the ukmo one looked like it was heading east, this ones going south. Makes a big difference in out come.
  12. Cloudy start, sun starting to shine through now. Over night low of 4.3. Today's high so far 8.4
  13. Once the cokd is in at ground level it only takes small tweeks here an there for snow to turn up. An under cut could hit the cold air plus drag in colder uppers, or a low could come down the north sea an do similar. The winter I keep hearing people talk about, 62/63 was a high pressure over the UK dominated type winter. Let's just see what transpires in the long run. ps, I don't mean this winter will be anything like 62/63. That should go without saying, however I know some might read it that way.
  14. It is now very still outside, the sky is clear, a nice mist is building, temp dropping slowly. Currently 4.6
  15. Depends on the uppers reaching cold over the south east, otherwise any moisture will just warm things up, or may be ice storm.
  16. Cloudy day today, over night low of 2.9, day time high of 7.1. Chilly east wind, but much lighter than it has been. Highest gust at 24 mph. Averaging between 10-15 mph.
  17. Nice and sunny here like yesterday, temp curently 9.7. The wind yet again is cold making the day feel much colder than it is. Gusting still between about 40-45 mostly. Highest gust so far today is 58 mph at about 5:30 this morning.
  18. Well today turned out different to what I expected. A quite strong ene wind, highest gust has been 58 mph, although most are in between 40-45. Very sunny, that's the it that surprised me, was expecting another grey day. The day is mild but the wind is cold. Temp right now is 9.9, Apparent temp is 2.4
  19. And I recall they did amber warn some of the rain in the SW, but that was the day before the storm hit, might that be why they didn't name it?
  20. I'm in two minds here, on the one hand winds were weaker although more wide spread, so probably doesn't come into naming territory as a wind storm. However it did cause many problems with rain amounts. I guess it comes into, do they name storms for excessive rain rather than strong winds. If they are naming storms likely to cause major flooding this should have been named, if they are not, it shouldn't have been. Does anyone know if they are naming storms for flooding purposes?
