  1. I liked the 18Z version, hopefully though still up in the air, those charts above are ugly
  2. 90's and earlier cold Feb's were guaranteed, so was snow and easterlies, but since 2000 the m/e has seen an increase in Atlantic air, Feb I think the month that's changed the most
  3. another Dec b'day unreal, Dec most common, Nov 2nd most common month for birthdays, so many people in these 2 months, Valentines day, ppl having good time
  4. was great but disappointed with the Atlantic breaking through with a whimper on 27th, and apart from a snow to rain setup on Jan 7th '11, that was virtually for the south winter over, I had no snow after Jan 7th
  5. surprising as late 9th to early 16th Dec here were quite mild, with a full thaw by end of 10th
  6. looks good SS, who knows delay it a day and again another warm spell timed for Tuesday, trend of the summer
  7. I do though! expect nowadays, Atlantic air between mid Nov and Mid Feb, a lot more frequent than good old days 90's and earlier
  8. best chart of GFS 12Z, possibly warmer/sunnier air moving in? long way off though, probably end up with a damp, miserable NE'ly and 10 °
  9. Sorry if it's trolling, but I still want warmth, and looking for warmth on models, it's 0ct, cold is useless in my location until late Nov, so let's have the southerlies and 20° for now, feel way better
  10. they will do, no raging jet or PV, I tend to think 0ctober, Apr and May are the most easterly months, and by miles most westerly months Nov to Feb
  11. certainly is way out, HP to north of UK wouldn't be near normal temps? would be below normal? and certainly not typical winter
  12. Sensible, realistic forecast from them SS, wouldn't be surprised to see Ian Pennell forecasting similar, anyone else think he is accurate?
  13. looking like a wet few days here from Friday, sigh, Saturday looking especially vile
  14. I'm still looking for warmth, may as well have the Atlantic back, 'cause from Friday my location looking rather unsettled,
  15. from tomorrow, my location looks like having north sea mist, could be thick and last all day
  16. sometimes 25° can feel hot, depending on what you're doing/humidity etc, and I'm 122 lbs, 25° generally good temp, 30° gets too much
  17. looks okay though from tomorrow, just hope rain from the east on friday stays away, but at worst 5 dry days on the bounce coming up, not bad
  18. no way, maybe window open tonight, tomorrow I thought looking cooler at least early on, could be much colder start than today
  19. my guess is, that we will have a winter dominated by the Atlantic, hardly a break in the zonality from mid Nov to mid Mar, flooding issues will come up again through the UK, could be in top 10 'wettest winters' on record exciting though for 300m plus asl oop norf, as my 'guess' will be PM shots at times between systems, virtually snowless though for low levels south
  20. you are in a better location, (although low elevation) for snow off a PM airstream in winter
