  1. maybe 200m, for sleet/wet snow, but pure/powdery snow over 300m, but anyway still autumn, only early Nov
  2. 300m+ really, dreading the wet Wednesday here
  3. certainly as an Atlantic air believer, I fully expect our first named storm of season from 14th Nov, 1st one of many
  4. models 00Z's trended towards GFS from around 9th, with Atlantic domination, sort of setup you'd expect in Dec to Feb, but with it being early Nov and snow not really possible, I wouldn't be surprised if ECM of yesterday was right, I don't expect the Atlantic to dominate until around 21st Nov watch 12Z's flip
  5. you might be okay, peaks look good for snow in that setup, but thawing as mild sectors move through
  6. Dec, mainly mild and wet, PM air at times giving snow to hills, above average rain and temps Jan, mainly mild, Atlantic lows to dominate, snow at times in Scotland as lows move away in the PM air, flooding possible, above average temps and rain Feb, less mild generally, coolest month of the winter, snow down to low levels in the north during PM shots, wet, but not as wet as Dec and Jan
  7. Ed, that's why I don't mind if these charts fail! very selfish of me I know, but for my location it's too early for snow, kinda hoping GFS is right, I wanna see cold setups 4 weeks from now
  8. Just wondering the earliest date when snow becomes possible? (low levels south) Varies I know, high elevations/north will be earlier say the 30th Nov '10 snow, if that was just 2 weeks earlier would it be sleet/rain? 0r the 19th Nov '96 snow, just a week earlier sleet/rain? if what ECM is showing now, of course would be rain but just a week later sleet? 2 weeks later snow? time of year by maybe just 14 days too early for the south here
  9. I think that's the way winter works! at least in England, dry spells are timed for cold, Wet means mild, otherwise snow would be easy, no novelty
  10. don't mind yet SS, as not even winter, let's have it mild for now, but GFS on last few runs seems to be looking very 2000+ normal in FI, with Atlantic air, by late Nov, I certainly think we will have usual sight, strong PV etc, no sign of cold
  11. yes 90's ruled, and of course earlier, maybe change my name to 'I remember winters'
  12. not bad prediction, If I lived in your location I would be as well, you may even see a few flurries on 6-7 Nov
  13. should see sunnier weather from tomorrow, but rain risk friday
  14. mmm, just wonder as soon as we reach snow possible time of year, our weather pattern will be back to normal? like snow seasons of last 16-17 years
  15. next Sunday looks vile, rain most of day for NW of the region, coming through Cheshire gap, probably 8° as well, summer's gone
  16. Sigh, Midlands worst again tomorrow, this HP sucks! dull, drizzly and dismal, but as it's only 0ct 30th and I live low level South, at least it will be mild!
