  1. Right, I'm writing off January for cold and snow (low levels south only) north will see cold/snow at times, models continually showing low pressure/zonal all the way, no greeny highs etc, not even any fantasy charts occasionally showing in FI, think towards mid Jan the azores high will move closer, meaning more TM air rather than PM (in a way I prefer that as it tends to be drier here, not writing off winter, as Feb is a long way off (and are we not due a decent Feb?), who knows, hope for a weaker Atlantic, and March snow easily possible, April snow unlikely low levels south, but maybe we are due April snow
  2. first 'ice' day in ages, max temp -1.3C, still ice, frost and snow around here, seen 3 snowmen! wonder how low tonight? -3.2C now
  3. -4.2C my min last night, still snow around wildwood area, must have had a flurry last night, could see the flakes on the ground, no fog though, i expected it foggy
  4. I mean for low levels, high levels always get loads
  5. track of the low was too far north for a dumping, but still got some snow
  6. Can see a zonal pattern setting up, can see it being a wet one, jet looks fairly south, models seem to agree on a low pressure dominated Jan, who knows though for Feb and Mar
  7. Not sure where you are reporting from, assuming derbyshire? how about location in sig or profile?
  8. Ive watched many of these, camera faces WNW? noticed how the clouds towards the end started to move from the NE
  9. 0h yeah the 4th, but that was it, snow the thursday after that completely missed here, maybe that's why i class the last real decent Feb as '09
  10. still dregs of snow about, 0.3C now, cold lasting until around new years day, then our usual weather wind and rain lasting through whole of Jan, are we not due a decent Feb? the last decent Feb here was '09
  11. just light sleet here, you'll not see a flake, assuming your elevation is lowish
  12. Yes, today was always forecast to be less cold with NW wind, do not expect the snow to last the day, dunno how its managed to not rain, expecting rain later
  13. cold zonality is useless for our region, unless you live above 300m, northerners even low levels, possibly the best setup
  14. yeah, most of the snow was definitely oop norf! GFS modelled this the best, having the low further north
  15. 2.0C now, signs of a slow thaw, could do with skies clearing after 4pm, lot of ice around
  16. still good cover, misty most of morning, upto 1.5C, rain showers can stay away!
  17. still snow around, clear as a bell -0.4C, expecting thaw today
  18. you are in for an absolute snowfest tomorrow!
  19. don't mean to be a 'gordon (negative) but really just the dregs now, still satisfied with the snow, hopefully still here in the morning
  20. might catch it here, but looks light, seems to be moving ESE though not S
  21. 20th, now I mostly missed out that one, was light snow all day, added nothing to top up
  22. you have been too far South, like 25th Jan 2013
  23. cut off point must have been just south of me, i had freezing rain while uppers were milder, then snow, still light snow falling
  24. where in south staffs? mine is decent 2-3cms max, 2.8 miles to the SE of stafford town centre up radford bank
