Everything posted by I remember Atlantic 252

  1. yeah trend the key, although on 0perational it tracks too far north, parallel better, need ecm on board though 00Z ECM tomorrow is key
  2. ECM not wanting to join party, GEM best solution snowfest boxing day style low
  3. bbc forecast for tues, snow showers, some heavy with risk of thunder! seems too good to be true
  4. not enough heights to the north for that, generally a flat pattern, wouldn't rule some wet snow out for our locations mind you
  5. not really, that looks very much like a streamer moving ENE, from the mouth of the severn, SW parts in a line to the ENE to get a lot of snow
  6. 12Z GFS upgrades weekend, cold northerly now, and leading edge snow possible as the Atlantic moves in on the 19th
  7. Sat 27th upto new years eve was decent for that, was a decent spell, which makes this winter better than last, all last year I had around 2cms of wet snow on Feb 11th, which thawed near enough straight away
  8. they are here as well, only really high levels, more especially in the north, infact for Scotland above 300m, probably snowier than an easterly, as Scotland is often dry in an easterly close to the high
  9. Tuesday evening, snow possible (low levels) definite high levels, on back edge of front, seems a similar setup to my only lying snow of last winter Tues 11th Feb, difference was though, that was morning
  10. models must be going to change then, I really cannot see any cold for next weekend onwards, ECM especially showing mildish weekend, GFS shows coldish weekend, but uppers pants, but milding up on 19th think meto may be wrong here, unless models suddenly flip, looks average Jan to me
  11. that's fantasy, windy weather is associated with Atlantic air, unless April then will get easterlies, windy mild from Nov to April
  12. that's what windy weather does, windy = mild, not a breath during cold spell 28th-31st Dec
  13. mushymanrob, agree, I mentioned the very cold SW'ly showing for Tuesday would produce big snow totals to higher parts of S/SW, our areas though look snow free
  14. higher levels in SW England look to be in for dumping on Tuesday, as well as the usual spots of course, my area looks snowless all the way through next 2 weeks
  15. very cold SW'ly for Tuesday still showing, not often get dark blue thicknesses, won';t be any snow here, just in SW England, W Wales and most of Scotland
  16. Agree fully with this as well sadly, northern members have right to be excited, enjoy it folks
  17. Most realistic post on here maybe for the south, no snow at all low levels south, just try to make the most of any dry windows timed for the day! they will be rare,
  18. Winds will be too westerly for Stafford and leicester, the showers will be Stockport in a line ESE through Derbyshire
  19. if i decided to go on holiday, say for a week out of the UK, the UK would have record snow that week, netweather record viewers, Stafford to have 18inches of snow, and when I'm due back the Atlantic will crash through don't need models etc if i had holiday, cos it would be snow
  20. hopefully it's wrong then, that sort of weather does not interest me one bit
  21. that would be rain for low levels, you would see snowfest mind you,
  22. an average one really, Jan is always dominated by zonal wind and rain, hopefully cold by Feb
  23. I do agree with this, you say it every year, but keep posting it, damn correct to me
  24. Yeah, I think that, mid Dec to late Jan, rarely sees cold, Feb lesser Atlantic
